  1. dont know if its any use to you now, but gor my last set from halfords and they open at 8. HTH
  2. I got the expensive one. if you are going for a crane, get the long reach, well worth the money. As for weight, fooking heavy as I picked up one last night, quite literally :)
  3. I used to drive 7.5's and remember "playing " with the brakes on the approach to a junction, making all the noises, which is fine until the air tank is empty..>Doh!
  4. Is it the case that the more you protect your kids, the more they need protected? Looking at all the posts, a lot seem to have had the upbringing I had, you went out and looked after yourself, or if you got into a scrape you got yourself out (in most cases because you didnt want your parents to find out what youd been up to). The same sort of thing applies to babies, with all this sterilisation kit going on, its months before the kid comes across a germ, yet put them on the floor and the first thing a bairn does is put something in its mouth. So if you dont allow kids to learn how to deal with situations, when its faced with one it doesnt know how??
  5. I asked the same question mate and was told that it was so much aggro its near impossible. I know that the new pistons are put in from the top and to try and compress the rings from the bottom would be a nightmare. Looks like the lump is coming out bud :(
  6. lol, never thought of that one. I'll say that when i first came down here andd went into an offie it shocked me. firstly it was called a "wine merchants" but the biggest shock was that there were no iron bars there. The offie where I grew up was just a counter with iron bars and everything alchoholic was behind them, so you asked for your beer or wine and paid for it and it got passed through the service opening. Walked into one down here and all the beer, wine and spirits were stacked in displays on the floor. Always supprises me that they dont get stormed by the lkocal and likely lads and emptied. That maybe says more about where i grew up than anywhere else.lol
  7. Segs were bloody dangerous, you put too many in your shoes, go running down the road and end up on your arse.lol. IS yaseen king of the chavs then or just keeps an oppo on them??
  8. Kid was about 5ish mate, he was fine, twas her getting out of her pram. the annoying thing was her kid was on the street while she was in the shop.lol
  9. Was out and about on my bike today (very nice thanks as you ask, best £11 ive spent in a long time) and two moments of clarity. A) walking down to post a letter (and have a fag, one downfall of bikes) and a kiddie falls end over end in front of me. As you do, I put the little sod right way up, and made sure he was ok. His mum comes out of a shop, and while not actually accusing me of trying to kidnap, mutilate etc her kid, she did make a point of saying about how little billy-bob (or whatever) shouldnt talk to strange men. So i think that in the first case its a sh1t state for the world to be in when you cant help an injured child, and in the second I hope that there are still people who are willing to help when/if the kid is in serious trouble. B) on a lighter note. MArried people with kids, or planning to have kids base the area the want to live in (as far as i can see) on the quality of the schools/ nurseries. But myself and the good laydee are DINKIES, so what do we base the localle upon, and in a moment of epiphany it came to me....cobblers. while I was out I was looking to have a pair of shoes repaired and drove around looking a cobbler, to discover that there are 3 main types and they seem to feature in three main areas. You have your 'dry cleaner cobbler' where both the clothes and the shoes are sent away to some little sweat shop in peckham and you cant get anything "while-u-wait" equates to high level of unemployment/ trainer wearers who dont get shoes repaired and if they do they are only for court appearances so it doesnt matter if it takes five days to get them done. You then have your "big orange machine, man in a brown coat" cobblers, where the aformentioned man uses the aforementioned machine to do 20 min repairs in the time honoured fashion (ten minutes to stick on a bit of leather or rubber that is far to big for your shoes, ten minutes spent cutting/sanding the extra bit off and polish the shoe) middle class, enough money to buy shoes worth repairing and want them done in the lunch hour. Last but not least the "old bespectacled man in a dark shop" cobbler, who will hand make you a pair of shoes (or hand repair them) will tkae three weeks to do it, but will effectively give you back a new pair of shoes. Rich, and have enough time on their hands/ pairs of shoes to not be concerned when they get their favourite loafers back. Any other ways of judging your area? level of burberry worn by the local neds maybe? And , in case your wondering, I got the middle guy today, lovely job and only a tenner :)

wheres the boost cut then? think Ill remove it on my ecu.
  11. I believe so as the resistor change affects the speed signal which I believe also controls the odometer. As Always, stand to be corrected.
  12. may have one for you bud, will have a look :)
  13. Or andy Z, will do you a second hand one :)
  14. You missed an option on this pole. The one that says I dont know what she thinks as I have never bothered asking her opinion :)
  15. Congrats to you and your missus. As with all upgrades Cos 1.2 is certainly an improvement , she obviously got her mothers looks :)
  16. or you could just bolt them on the outside like anyone else
  17. James, if you dont have a reader I may have one to fit. If you get stuck gimme a shout.
  18. The way that its suggested to do it is to use a pain of needle nose pliers and hold the pin whilst removing or replacing the needle. I id this originally and it worked fine (during my resistor chasnging effoirts) however when i took it out for a test with just the speedo, no plastic fascia, in the needle looked a little high and I thought "if I just give thet a little nudge in..........Doh!!!!" but i am a ham fisted tw@t at times :(
  19. send them here mate, If I dont know what you want I will find out for you jock
  20. The pipe from your exhaust headers downwards is your "exhaust" and measuring the outside diameter of that will give you your bore. Ignore the tail pipes. The problem is you may find a lot of different sizes under there if you have an aftermarket system. The aftermarket systems made to fit the zed will come in the right lengths and fittings to fit, but the bore of the pipe is down to the guy that made it. You sem to have a back section in 3" bore. If you buy a back section ( from the centre box to the tails) from the zed centre it should be a direct replacement, if however you just want to replace the back boxes, you are going to have to source back boxes that fit onto a 3" bore. HTH
  21. Like to also congratulate Stuart, I am sure he will give the job 100%. Hugh
  22. try here http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk/
  23. re: your speedo problem, do you have a speedo converter (is your car a jap spec, originally in KM/H and converted to read MPH). If so you may find the converter has gone US, if not your speed sensor could be the culprit.

The matrix is easier on an auto (on a manual it is easier if you remove the clutch assembly, it gives you more room) but it is still a fair old job. A new matrix will cost you about £100 from courtesy nissan in the states, and to fit it first time I would give yourself a whole saturday ( and leave the sunday free incase you get stuck, bored, p1ssed of and want to leave it for a bit :)). It is easier, certainly for the first time, if you take the dash out (this is not as bad as it seems, I can take mine out in about 40 mins) as this allows you to see what you are doing. As far as the water loss goes, if the heater was bypassed when it started to leak it sahouldnbt be too much of a problem, if it was run while short of water you should be careful tho . HTH
  25. Its the poor sheep I feel sorry for
