  1. timing belt wrap You can do the same method, with a pulley belt, if thats all you have to hand, the point is to sort it so that your movement is tightening the belt against itself
  2. what about some unknown rockers?
  3. speak to smithy regarding the clutch. The ptu wont go to the rear bulkhead, but it will go to the passenger wing, beside the fuel filter. Knock sensor (and Loom) is not cheep , I think betwen 60-90 quid. Fitting new turbo oil seals may be a problem, I was under the impression only certain types can be rebuit, otherwise its new turbos. Mark and Kirbz are talking about removing the core plugs (look like round plugs all over the engine, which give access to the waterways of the cooling system) and cleaning out the waterways, both of limescale and flashings ( which are little wbs of metal left there during the casting process) this will help the cooling system work more efficiently. HTH
  4. could well be the speedo needles sticking or a loose connection in the converter. If it is the needles, I would imagine they are leaving a mark on the face
  5. Was it me Paul, I would be on to the company. If the tosser is stupid enough to use his companies resources to make a call like that. His next call will be from the job club. Only what that sort of scum deserve in my book
  6. I never thought about that, you tarts with granny gear boxes will have an advantage. Not that it'll help :)
  7. you still doing the national?
  8. Having a bit of a chat today and come up with an idea. the winter is upon us and a lot of us are putting our zeds away either for maintenance (like myself) of because the salt on the roads. So how about a national competition for the winter time? We hold regional meets at a Karting venue, the fastest two from each region join together in a central location for a National tear up? I think, as a club, this would give us something positive to focus on and would be a bit of a giggle as well. Thoughts or Ideas?

by the description it sounds like a non-turbo. It is, as you said very difficult to say without looking the car over. I will say that my best zed was an NA and it cost me £500. Price is no indication of value :)
  10. So I am a twat, part numbers below: Alternator and power steering belts are different Alternator Belt: NA A172M-V530MVW A/C Belt: A192M-F650AVW Power Steering Belt: NA 195M-F650AVW
  11. should be mate as its the same engine.
  12. Many happy returns mate.
  13. they sometimes do the RC Bodies on ebay
  14. Take the dash out, its far easier in my opinion. As cos said , with a manual take out the clutch assembly or you will struggle to get the old matrix out and even more to get the new matrix in without damamging it. Also dont forget to put an earth wire on the new matrix, as this helps longevity :)
  15. There is a drain hole just above that spot, it could be blocked and with the heavy rain recently could be overflowing the "gutter", if its been blocked for a while, the dust and shit that gathers there could be turning the water sludgy
  16. deffo heater matrix, or pipes leading to it, have seen it come thru bough footwells.

  18. Interested mate, depending on where you are, as the cost of posting to you may outweigh the extra involved in getting the guy to come to me. Good offer tho.
  19. Do the plenum water hoses bypass Change the camshaft and front crankshaft oil seals Change the water pump Change the cambelt tensioner Paint your cambelt covers to a colour of your choice
  20. Once again, I got to say that I have been with AOL for nearly ten years and never experienced any of the problems quoted. From their original dial-up to their broadband service, have always found them to be good, have tried a few other dial ups (from my laptop when I travel) but keep coming back to AOL.
  21. I havent heard anyone say "at my bit" since I left glasgow:) And you are right, that scubie would cost nothing to put right
