  1. it could also be the door operation. The air pushed through the system is controlled by little doors (like butterfly valves) which direct the air either to the heater or cooler depending on your choice of settings. There is a diagnostic here or I beleieve conzult does the same thing automatically :)
  2. Fookin hell, how much warning do you want? cos Slough is going to take some tidying
  3. yourl find them at the back of the engine, middle of the plenum and they go through the firewall

  8. all the very best when you speak to him
  9. There arent that many screws, but there are a few clips. The matrix is held in bt half a dozen screws, but they are in awkward positions, which is why it is so difficult to do
  10. well, as that water is coming out of your cooling system, I wouldnt be driving the car too far bud
  11. First one is watter p1ssing all over you passenger or drivers foot well, losing water from your coolant system is another.

Have to say that for a young girl whose education has been "terribly disrupted", she speaks very well. My other thought is, if they are "travellers" why do they want permanant, safe accomodation, surely if you are a "traveller" you would rather be travelling?
  13. Would be more impressed if he showed a picture of the engine in place. Did I miss something or could that just be another zed?? If I had transplanted that engine, I would want to show it off
  14. What sort of money you looking at for the car ???
  15. Take it to a local video/tv repair place and they should do it for you for pennies. Ask them to remove your old chip and solder in a socket.

As a bove, I went withthe van option, but be aware, they aint light :(
  17. I had a set of after markets in my car when I got it, they had been attached to the existing rails, which gave the seat belt and the bak/forward movement of the original seats. But, rather than dismantling your leather ones, which I am guessing you will sell, see if Andy Z or someone has a damaged set of cloth ones you can ruin :) like these
  18. The way I do it: I run the engine till warm, undo the bottom rad hose to empty the system close it again and quickly fill the system back up as per the instructions on the pack, but with water as warm as I can get it from the tap and run the engine again as per the instructions. In this way, the thermostat should be open as you empty the system, and the warm water should either keep it open or drastically shorten the time till it opens again, meaning that you get the flush round the whole system as quickly as possible. I run as per the instructions (believe 30 mins) and go through the whole thing again with the second bottle of the pack, which neautralises the flush agent. Run again as per instructions and repeat again with hot water and coolant. Its probably not as good as taking the two pipes off, and you do burn your hands, but its not as much of a pain in the ass and you do the rad at the same time. And it seems to work for me :) Unless you are reving the engine the tubs wont be spinning and so wont overheat
  19. It is also possible that they have put the chip in the wrong way round
  20. Halfords do a two pack flush, it is a pain in the ass, because you have to keep emptying/ refilling, but it does the job
