  2. Only two points here, I am a magnatec fan, but each to their own. And I would be surprised if the vast majority of zeds, used regularly, have got to 13 yrs without needing a rebuild. I cant understand why people get all shocked when their engine gets a bit rattly, most 13 yr old cars are well on their way out by now, but because "its only done 56k" people get surprised.. PS. Mac sorted his conrods out for me  and I will say this, they look like new, the ones I have in my garage have a right yellow tinge where they have been sitting in gungy oil, but I wouldnt be upset if I opened a box of new conrods and they looked like the ones out of Iain's engine
  3. Apart from the fact that the JWT is set for european fuel as oposed to Jap. I too stand to be corrected (as always :)) but the ECU only knows you have better air flow because of the MAS/ MAF so if the air flow is not there the ecu will still attempt the same air fuel ratio as the chip designates. So more air will not mean a leaner mixture, it will just mean a greater volume of the same mixture, or else everyone who put on an air filter without a chip would run massively lean, and that aint the case. Also, iirc, Karlos has an air filter fitted.
  4. Ebay is another option for bits. My firestorm has straight through Hi-levels on, and sets off car alarms as I go by, but I bought a couple of metal plates off ebay, stuck em on with "double sided sticky tape" and she went through. My MOT guy is "understanding" tho. If you have a custom made exhaust, the previous owner may have robbed your footrest and ehaust hangers :(
  5. yes bud, you can.

  12. I was with them last year and got told that not only did Mods not count but also that I could have any amount of points on my licence as long as it hadnt lead to a ban. At the time I asked the girl to check with her supervisor and he confirmed. The basis of it was: if they could prove that your mods had DIRECTLY contributed to an accident, then you wouldnt be covered. I have come across this before on bike insurance re: dark visors. When the ploice were saying that if you wore a dark visor you were uninsured the companies came out and sid that was only the case if they could prove that the dark visor contributed to the accident
  13. there wasa group buy on here, but you need to be subscribed (20quid) to take part in them
  14. Damn my slow typing hands .lol
  15. Adam, Firstly, lose the caps mate :) Generally speaking it is recommended that you dont add more that 100 shot of NOS on a standard engine with people generally settling between 25 - 75. And Anything over 50 without a controller may give you problems. The reason for this is that you are going to dump the HP through your back wheels in one hit and the torque (for 100bhp shot of Nos, you will be putting 200ft/lb of torque thru there) This can do two things a) shred you transmission and b) spin your car like a top. Using a wet kit, you will not need to uprate your injectors ( as the fuel is supplied by the fuel solenoid) but for safety's sake, you may want to change the fuelling map in your chip so that you are running a little rich. You want to check that the Nos system is not robbing the injectors of fuel pressure: If your fuel solenoid for your wet system is taking sufficient pressure to make the injection system run below its designed pressure, your car will run lean and expensive bangs will follow.
  16. Say again??

  18. bummer bud. Hope you get sorted
  19. have bought some new gauges for my car and was going through the usual "where shall I put them " thing and was wondering if anyone had thought of modifying the original instrument cluster. Either by removing the existing temp and boost gauges and replacing them or by totally redesigning the clocks to icude new gauges. I know that there is a PCB behind the clocks, but has anyone though of reworking this?
  20. The jap version had the oiption of speakers mounted in sealed boxes with individual amps (which mine has) lovely :) Shame I am tone deaf.lol
  21. Have discussed this with a few people, and while I agree that it is a problem, the water pipes under the plenum (or the junstions if you have had them bypassed) are way higher that the existing rad top. I cant see that you would raise it high enough to do any good :(
