  1. Dont know what all the fuss is about, thats about the standard for all our roads on the isle of wight
  2. The time control unit controls the time its stays on. Over time the TCU tends to lose a few features, due to tracks burnt or dry joints. Here is a pdf coloured wiring diagram, scroll over to 36 and you can see what the time control unit controls and the wire colours
  3. The relay is in the drivers footwell, behind the fuseboard. The feed for the rear window defogger is light green, so splice into the feed from the relay (LG) and ground in the door.
  4. Nice idea, depends if the rocker cover is painted for a theme or chromed, so a good option would be to make both lol
  5. Look nicer, built better, even though they are both German lol, better resale value
  6. Merc clk without doubt
  7. IMO the only repairable cars worth buying are newer models, with plenty of scope for a profit and desirability factor, unless you want it for yourself, but there are plenty of cheap cars out there for the money.
  8. If you get it up together John, with 12 months MOT i dont see why not. Piston heads may be your best bet, infact take a look at PH anyway to gauge a price. Depends on how soon you need to get rid, might be better off waiting another few months and sell it for the summer, might be more interest. If i had the money spare i would take it off your hands, but with the current climate, its hard lol.
  9. You could always buy the BM for the engine and box for the zed and sell the rest for parts, should get your money back and have a V8 for the zed :thumbup1:
  10. Just as well he is a big bloke, or he might not have survived, i hope he makes a full recovery, im sure he has the support of the community.
  11. Anyone seen these available anywhere, might just be a US thing, but i wouldnt mind getting hld of a pair:tongue_smilie:
  12. :happybday: have a great day :happybday:
  13. :happybday: hope youre enjoying your holiday :happybday:
  14. I actually quite like the aerial :flowers:
  15. To disable it totally, without going the fuse route, eother take the rear panel out and pull the plug or the easier option unplug from the head unit and disconnect the blue wire (aerial feed)
  16. Also to check the speaker isnt dead, get a 9v battery (PP3) and place the terminals of the battery on the terminals of the speaker. In phase +to+ the speaker should click outwards. This will determine that there is free movement of the speaker, but not necessarily that its in perfect working order. If its been dropped it could be off centre or fried the basket will not move at all.
  17. Well done Isaac for all your hard work and congrats to Chris, im sure you will do a sterling job
  18. We pay the TV license because its the law, if you own a TV, not cos we want too lol Dont get too worked up mate, its just a chance to have a dig at Sky:laugh: Amittedly slightly off the original help topic, but still part of the topic-ish :surrender:
  19. Welcome to the club :thumbup1:
  20. I think your missing the issue, i totally understand what you are saying and you have a valid point. My point is, we have to paty to watch the premium channels on sky and therefore if the box goes wrong we cannot watch the programmes we pay for, so in my opinion its in the interest of sky to keep me watching and paying, so surely a free box is the least they can do. Obviously you as an installer? wont get paid, which i think is your issue lol
  21. I threatened to cancel my subscription unless they give me a new box free. They did lol. I was paying £48 a month, so i guess they werent prepared to lose the £576 a year for the sake of a box, which costs them bugger all. I too had installed it all myself and my box was playing up. I bought my HD box brand new when it came out, cost about £200, so there was no way i was going to pay for another one. Just stand your ground, they will not want to lose a valued customer.
  22. you would need to go back to cats i would have thought, to get it down to that level or add a few more silencers inline. The cats act as a silencer, that in conjuction with the OEM rear boxes, most tend to want the opposite lol
  23. No its much nicer, great tone, quieter inside, still has the nice V6 burble when pootling along and still sings when you floor it. After trying decats, then decats with silencer, japspeed catback with x pipe, ive found the mongoose to be a great system. So i have z centre decats with silencer and the mongoose cat back. :thumbup1:
  24. Sorry to hear about your friend Vijay, you can never find the words when something like this happens to someone so close.
