Good bits and bad bits, much like anywhere. Overall it's a bit on the grotty side but she'll be fine.

Maybe some of them are just nice little kids. I'm going to get some mini mars bars to dish out or something. Or maybe some Bensons. Obviosuly at the first sign of trouble, I'll be out there administering summary justice with the hot crack pipe though.

Tap it round and out with a centre punch or chisel? Or drill a pilot hole and take it out with a reverse thread stud extractor? Could you hacksaw a slot into it and get it out with a screwdriver? I hate knackered / sheared bolts!

I might change the coolant in mine. I think it's a job plenty of garages ignore at service time or if they do it, don't use distilled water/antifreeze. Old coolant or a regular water / antifreeze mix isn't going to do anything (especially the heater matrix) any good. Is it a big job? Will it all come out if you take the rad and engine bottom hose off? I guess the overflow bottle would need draining too?

They look nice. James did some of the car when he owned it against well chosen urban / industrial backgrounds and I thought they looked excellent.

We have become rich during the last two centuries in which we have been damaging the environment. Yes developing nations are causing more polution right now but we can't really tell them to stay poor now we're rich and have already fooked the planet. Yes other nations need to sort their act out but that doesn't mean we shouldn't make changes too. Someone needs to lead by example. Some politicians have mentioned cutting income tax and raising environmental taxes - so it's not just more tax (I hope!) but different taxes.

If the world really is in trouble, maybe we should do our bit by using our big cars a little less? Yes other people need to make an effort too but it doesn't mean we shouldn't.

Looks like some fairly heafty green taxes will hit us sooner or later. I wonder what they'll be and if it'll increase the cost of Zed ownership much?

It's a big shop here - like a sort of pikey John Lewis. I think it stands for Quality and Discount (only one of which is really true).

For sale in QD. Not only the full kit which comes with three washes worth of shampoo and filter... It also comes with a full size filter and bottle of shampoo too - both good for another ten washes. All for a tenner! If I was skint / had more time I'd buy loads and sell the full kits and shampoo/filters seperately on eBay. edit - maybe I could hawk them out of the back of the auld Datsun at shows?
