  1. general advisory practice for tyres is replace at 5 years old, so 10 year old tyres are past their use by date. but i know very few people who actually bother with that ;-) as long as they have been stored indoors, they are probably fine, but the rubber may not be as pliable as new tyres
  2. not tried that specific model, but had Hankooks on a few different cars now in the dry they were great, and mileage was good, but i dont find them that good in the wet, and they always seem noisy on the road. personally, i wouldnt consider them for a daily driver, but would use them for a weekend/summer car.
  3. i generally use http://www.camskill.co.uk when ordering car tyres, as they always seem to have the best prices and stock availability, and deliver promptly. But i used national tyres http://www.national.co.uk in an emergency when i was up in scotland, and they were also very very well priced. you also get them cheaper if you order online for fitting at a branch, rather than ordering directly in the branch (some company management initiative..lol). The branch manager told me that, so i ordered online while i was in the reception. I recently used http://www.openeo.co.uk for the first time after being recommended, to get 2 sets of bike tyres, and also found excellent prices and delivery was good too. i notice they supply car tyres as well, but have not used them for that. using camskill and openeo means you will have to pay to get the tyres fitted elsewhere, which is fine if you have someone that will do that for you. not all tyre places like fitting tyres they havent supplied.
  4. crikey, what a scare. take care!

  8. i could niot find pont caffino on the map Hubert. could you show it? my father lives nearby at saint paul mont penit, and i would certainly like to call in when i visit him next year.
  9. Hi Christophe, was great to meet you, and glad you have joined our forum. welcome.
  10. Steve, that is awesome, and should have pride of place somewhere.... we have discussed some different ideas and plans for next year, but ultimately, it depends on a) how large a stand we get allocated after applying b) how many owners can commit 100% to the show but that car could take up a stand all on its own!
  11. once the stand is setup on Thursday, you are not allowed to move the vehicles around on the other days, so it was not possible to do once the news was known
  12. nice one Lee, great to hear from you buddy.
  13. yeah, tis a shame on the sequence of events. sods law. how about being the first car on the list for the 2016 show instead? (well, first after whatever Lee has managed to sort out in that time) gives you time to fix the minor little niggles you were worried about ;-)
  14. that being the lorry wheel... ;-)
  15. its a shame, but worth a try. many thanks. last year, there was no way we could have got onto the stand late. this year, we are right next to a main access way. no way of knowing at the time. anyone immediately local might still be able to make it on, if they want to try?
  16. looks like Mondo has stepped up to the plate. top man
  17. stuck in accident traffic on m6, probably with a few other show goers, so might be lucky and still get access for a bit longer?
  18. unfortunately one of our planned show cars cannot make the classic car show. details of why will be posted later today i am sure. is there anyone with a show ready car able to give up their car for the weekend, at very short notice? we have 3 cars already but had planned and have space for 4 if you are also able to stay with it, then a hotel room is already booked. our stand entry time is 10am, but can probably still get access for an hour or so after, depends how many other stands arrive early. call me on 07885 852047 if you can help.
  19. just got off hone from Lee he broke down on way to NEC, pulled onto hard shoulder or side of road. went looking on foot for road or place name to give RAC while gone, car was hit by a lorry, and is a write off, but he hasnt seen it yet luckily had a witness as lorry drove off, witness found Lee down the road and they chased down the lorry and stopped him then called police police dealing with him now and hopefully they will take him back to car 2 miles back up the road so he can see it very lucky that he was not in the car and that he is alright. he will post when he gets a chance to
  20. got an immobiliser? do i need to bring mine as backup ;-) be the bad egg in the box lol
  21. Exactly what I was thinking
