As long as its clean and tidy, thats the important bit. :-) all the bits that dont normally get cleaned are spic and span, that would definitely have been my challenge :lol: It does mean we end up with 1 of each model on the stand if you can make it. If you are able to make it Thursday morning and stay for the weekend, then it would be great if you can do that. If not, then don't make any special journey etc, i will use mine, or see if we have another offer, or just go with 3 cars and have the extra stand space. No problem. If you confirm, then i will send you some details on what you need to bring, where to meet up, etc.

You are free to believe what you want, but the truth is, forgetting to post it is exactly how it happened. If you hadn't asked the question, then we would still be thinking that it had been done, and yes, it's a lesson learnt. I don't lie. About anything. Not at home. Not at work. Not at play. Speaking the truth gets me into enough trouble already, why would I want to make it worse? In all of my dealings with the club since its inception, everything I have done has been about enhancing and preserving the club and community for as long as possible. Even when I took a hiatus from the club after selling my first car, I made sure that the club was created as a bona fide entity to carry it on as it was intended, and when I returned a few years later, it was still being run with the interests of the club at its core. All of the people that have come and gone through the committee have acted with integrity and honesty and none more so than the current members. Yes, there may have been some decisions made in the past on personal feelings, particularly on some bannings, but the people I have seen banned are due to abusive, threatening or personally insultive behaviour, or crossing the line of decency making racist comments or displaying unsavoury bigotry. Traits that are not welcome here. What you are doing is insulting me and the committee personally, questioning our values, because we forgot to do something. Thanks for that. I and the committee must feel really encouraged and appreciated by that. We all work, we all have families, we all have personal lives, and the time and effort we all make to keeping the club running and as friendly as possible is because we all have the club interests at heart, but that doesn't make us infallible. Not every negative outcome is a result of deliberate deceit, conspiracy or malevolence. If that is how you view the events around you, then you have my sympathy, because you are focussing too much attention on the wrong side of life.

the lack of announcement was just an oversight, nothing intentional. should have happened at the time of the PM's, but was missed by us during the conversations. again, sorry.

There is no conspiracy. No underhand secrecy. Just a desire from the committee to do the best that can be done in the time. Yes, there are lots of other cars around, but not all of the owners are here. I am sorry that some of the offers were missed, but when time gets short then the decision comes down to what cars are known to be good, have been seen and validated, etc. Time gets short for all kinds of reasons, and there was a gap here where members of the committee had other commitments as well. These things happen. But still, the best interested of the club are always at the heart of any decisons. We have some great cars chosen, and with the club stand being smaller than expected, less than we would have liked. Just another contributing factor. So if we are learning lessons for next year, then we start earlier, get pictures of cars not just offers of cars, get more details than we have previously, to make things better.

You will have the whole of Thursday afternoon to do any last minute cleans and polishes once on the stand, apart from when we keep moving the cars around to get the right layout :lol:

forgot to register my interest previously. non camping alternative please ;-) might be cheaper and easier to make sure it doesnt clash with any school holiday dates, so that puts August out. depending on the location, it might be a viable AGM location if there are enough attendees, but nice thought about possibly going for June to avoid a clash.

its still common across France. the other major problem with it is that it causes plastic fuel tanks and other plastic components to distort when left unused for a while. quite a few bike fuel tanks developed blisters over winter.

so it looks like we could have a swb, a slicktop, and 2 or 3 lwb? just need to draw and scale up the floorplan to see if we can easily fit 3, 4 or 5 cars on, as we have an odd shaped space this year.

no time to clean mine today, so it will be however it is... maybe have a go at it once we are all parked up

the UK yellow was not the same as the JDM pearl yellow, as a guy called Jez had one. but i am sure it was also not that the luminous colour in the pic either.

did a simple job that i have put off for a couple of years. some shoddy half arsed prep work, but the end result is still worth it.

as i'm already in the Fens, i might be able to make this. :lol: but wont be sure until the day, as i may have visitors yet. not sure what roads you are thinking of? some of them look good on a map, which doesnt show subsidence, potholes, mud, gravel and general shoddiness :-/

haha, there is one of those in my town, but never been brave enough to go down there. they also seem a little eclectic bunch maybe once i reach a certain age, i will earn enough eclecticness to see what they are about :p
