  1. Some good news- garage syas the problem was a stone got stuck between p/s belt and pulley. Damaged the pulley and snapped the belt, last noise I heard similar to that from an engine was when I killed the Z's bottom end.
  2. Spent the first 2 hours of my journey in that!
  3. More like this but no driver
  4. Tell me about it, was going to work on the Z tonight but think it might be safer to do it tomorrow!!
  5. I had a meeting scheduled today with a big potential customer but yesterday he postponed it  So I think, there is someone else I can schedule a meeting with at 8.30 this morning instead. I set out from Cardiff at 7.30 this morning, traffic grinds to a halt 4 miles from home as the M4 is shut due to an accident . I ring the guy to say I will be there late, maybe 10.30, an 1 1/2 later at 9.30 I am another 5 miles down the road but not past the accident, I decided to take a sneaky route and manage 5 miles in 25 minutes - a result compared to the past 2 hrs. Then a horrible noise starts coming from the engine (V6 TDi Audi A4):mad: I coast to a halt in a pub car park, now 10.00am. Call the RAC to say need help as not driving any futher, told be there in 45mins. 45 mins later get a call to say patrol stuck in traffic as motorway closed - no sh*t, did they think I flew over it? Be another hour. 11.45 he turns by which time I have found shredded belt in the engine bay, he has one look at the bit of belt I have in my hand, looks in the engine bay but the belts have covers he can't remove. He says "the bit of belt you found is good enough for me, not starting it and will get a recovery truck as the car is a quattro, truck will be an 1hr" and off he goes. 1.00pm a local pick up company turn up and recover the car to the garage and get there at 1.45pm. I go into the office to chat with the owner while the car is unloaded. I walk out to see the guy stood by the car as it comes off the wagon (normailly the sit in to control the car?) *the towing eye comes out (turns out not screwed in by him properly) and the car rolls off the truck backwards straight into the side of a parked van* Damaging the bumper but more damage to the van :mad::mad: Eventually get home at 2.15pm having got 15-20 miles from home, no meeting, car broken and damaged!!

After last years low attendance I know we have lost a few members and gained a few more. So who is up for some meets this year? We will do a few where we meet up, go for a blast and then maybe a few drinks (non alcoholic) and some food, then do one or two with an activity- karting/paintball if number are good enough. Get some names down to see what we can do this year.
  8. Thought it would be you! I was in the A4 which is why you didn't see me.
  9. Going east bound, was it you Jon?
  10. Full rebuild including wiseco pistons, cometic gasket, 740cc injectors, new water pump, head skim, valves recut, cylinder rebre plus some other bits. I supplied alot of the parts but he was a very good price. He is online so you could pm him?o
  11. :bow:Had Jimmer do mine and was well pleased, came back clean and fully painted
  12. Lucky boys, I'm hoping with the birthday soon......
  13. Tubz, drop me line if you going to buy from a retailer rather than Ebay as some of my customers include Awesome GTI, AMD, VAG Tech and VAG Speed so should be able to get you a discount.
  14. You could in theory sit it where air con was and run the belt off the same pulley as the air con did. The hardest thing is feeding it to the throttle bodies but it is similar to the single tub conversion I am doing now. I just think for the results on a TT it's not worth the hassle.
  15. I don't think on a TT it would worth all the work for the results you would get unless you went for a huge supercharger, bigger tubs would be better. The results on a NA would be good I think. I supercharged a Pug Mi16 engine with a Rotrex unit, power went from 160 to 235bhp!
  16. Lookin good Jimmy, I'm struggling with motivation on mine
  17. Err no, just so wrong.:nono:
  18. Don't think it's that bad.
  19. My one called me!!! Although I should start wearing goggles before I go blind.
  20. More detail as I hate that red pipe!
  21. Strangely enough that's who's helping me out, talking to Jim and Rick there.
  22. Quite a few but have been quoted £1K upwards and I haven't got that much, spent it on ther things as I set a budget for each section of the job and since the Janspeed thing is gone I have to get as close to that cost as poss and £1k ain't anywhere near  It has put me back about 6 weeks and now it's blo*dy cold in the garage!
  23. Loads in Luton :hyper:
