  1. Inspiration from here???
  2. Right guys i have been thinking about Performance of the Zed and mods in the Future.... So what is one of the main Restriction for power on our cars.... INJECTORS!!!! As turbos max out at 18psi, what holds you back is our Injectors which max out at 14.5psi! So next size up = 555cc injectors which seems excessive on an slightly Upgraded setup and requires specific chip for fuelling etc etc!And have you seen the f**king price of them!! Robbery or what!! So having a browse i see that the 350z (not a typo) injectors you can have Nismo 440cc injectors for around 1/2 the price for a set of some (300zx)Nismo 555cc injectors! Now as the injectors are only a small amount bigger a new chip shouldn't be necessary and only a small amount of fuel adjustment needs to be made on the map as flow rate is higher! This will enable people to run Higher boost if wanted without fear of DET! Now from what i can see the Injectors look the same and i dont know if they would fit (Perhaps) and what would be the main difference between this 300z set and the 350z set?? I know older injectors had Lower Fuel pressure and large Spray from a large 'exit hole' where'as newer injectors have a Higher pressure but with more 'exit holes' thus creating a Better and more even spread of Fuel. (Lazy Excuse time) In a rush for work so dont have time to look up Fuelling spec as per 300z and 350z but i dont see why we have to follow the same s**t as everyone else. (no offence to Crowd followers) but would anyone know of what modifications would be needed to make these injectors work. Seeing as i cant find anyone whom has done it before this could be a new adventure. I only query as when helping my friend on his car we used different injectors on his car which were slightly bigger and were High impedience which worked out better and provided him sufficient fuelling and slightly better performance (he upgraded from 270cc to 330cc) Just feel that people need to expand their minds on what Modifying is all about and not just all falling into the category of Show and Shine boys :rant::rant: Hopefully this maybe of use to some people and the Tech Heads can have a good ol think! Many thanks and will have a peek after work after 11pm :(
  3. Id say Keep Dreaming :)
  4. ROFL!! At the end of it, if its in a straight line its all in the Numbers! Power to weight etc etc! So if power it the same and there is 100kg difference the lighter car will win! But put the same cars on a track and it will be a different story! But as said above if its not Pub talk and is truly around that figure then yes the Zed should have the edge on the m3
  5. Do you have your undertray still on? By slicing cuts into it and directing them towards the rear of the car you will create suction from air passing under the car which will 'suck' hot air out! May help a little when driving but useless in traffic :)
  6. This is how mine is although its a pair of BOV's :)
  7. Making a Custom one will cost FAR LESS than that and you dont even need the mines one to mould from, just create your own!
  8. Could you not have a Charge Cooler like on some Subaru's?? They are amazing!
  9. Try CAS Sensor (Crank Angle Sensor) there is a tiny little plug under the Right hand pipe going into the throttle body, clean out the plug and refit and make sure is 100% in then retry! Check Fuel filter again and see if fuel is going through it, then next is check spark plugs are Sparking
  10. Well the New BMW although 70hp more powerful weighs in at 1700kgs for the 2door Coupe! So with out Zeds (Stock) being a 100kgs lighter that extra power will do nothing special for it! Im pretty sure the old M3 (E46) is faster than the new M3 (E90)
  11. Believe these were changed when the New clutch was put in (around 6months before i became the new owner) thinking of putting a lightweight flywheel in as Box will need to be taken out so as im there but funds are tight :(
  12. Lighten Rotational Weight Components! Propshaft (Can get a 1piece Prop made up) Lightweight Flywheel Other Ideas High Lift Cams also good on NA cars (Dont know how well on a Zed though) And the ideas that others have mentioned!
  13. Sounds Like a Scam :smash: :smash: :smash:
  14. ok guys Clutch has started making a horrid noise when it is Pressed/ Engaged! Sounds as if its juddering like when your about to stall so a loud (can hear it in traffic with windows down) clicking i guess (will try and upload an Audio of it) Now the clutch still Engages/Dis-engages fine and good when changing gears so its not Master or Slave cylinder and if i apply a touch of pressure to the clutch pedal (not even 10% pressed) the noise starts and it also will 'click' faster if im in Neutral, clutch pressed and i touch the Accelerator pedal. So my 1st thought was its the Clutch Release bearing (Also called Thrust bearing IIRC) but im not sure. Cause of this is Unknown all i can think of is perhaps lazy foot had slightly pressed clutch in while driving about (for alot of Miles) so has worn down pressure plate teeth perhaps?? Is getting looked at on Thursday but if anyone has any ideas, it will make it easier and quicker to Track down the problem! Many Thanks in Advance Munny
  15. Sellers are adjusting to what the market wants! And unfortunately alot of what the market wants are Chrome/shiny bits and stickers which is sad to see :( At Zedfest there were quite a Few Mechanically Amazing cars and not just full of Show and Shine Guys (although a fair few of the 350z guys were)
  16. iv done 18,000miles in just over 2years :D Daily Driver FTW!
  17. Due to the Zed being a Twin Turbo Setup you will find that a nice pair of Larger Side Mount inter coolers will work best than installing a BIG FMIC! You may prefer to go down that route as these are mainly just for show in a Zed due to the practicality of Bigger Side mounts being the better option
  18. 1. No you dont have to remove the Headlights. 2. Cant remember off the top of my head Dont know of reassembling them, probably easier to buy some H3C's i mean they are only like 6quid (CLICKY) I got a Set of the H1 bulbs for the Full Beam and they fitted in fine. I believe that the Fog Light main beam is also H1 and the Side light in it is a 501 if iirc
  19. took me ages to figure out wtf i was looking for XD Looks good, i also have Black roof panels.... and door panels... and bumpers well pretty much all of it is black XD
  20. Ok guys i spent a few hours yesterday fitting this! only had 1 jack and NO Axel stands so it was a Pig but i got it done :) Drilled Through the Rear bumper for the 2 bolts to go through the bumper and Diffuser to its secure at the back and underneath i tucked it in the Heat-shield just in front of the petrol tank and bolted it through the heat-shield and diffuser thus saving me from making some Brackets for it. As its tucked in there, there is no upset in the airflow under the rear of the car. This is how she looks Looks Super Stealthy yet does its job! Will see if there is any MPG gain on the trip to Zedfest at the weekend. On my drive to Blackpool i was at 29mpg. How it looks from the floor, covers up the fuel tank so another thing protected! Finally a Sideish view to see how it compared to the rest of the rear bumper, still pretty flush with it and the blades dont stick out or too far down past the ones on the bumper! Enjoy the Pics :)
  21. I got some Lightweight Recliners in Alcantara and turned out to be Far Cheaper than just a kit let alone Fitting it :)
  22. Well im off to Zedfest this weekend (only 50miles) you should come along! Ill bring my Conzult Cable (but lappie is bust atm) so if someone has the software we can plug you in and see if your ECU is reading any fault codes.
