rising and falling oil pressure
probably a loose coil pack connection. explains poor running, fuel consumption and the cats overheating.

Vibrating Z!!
as people have said it's most probably the propshaft centre bearing. If you search you'll find it quite common. new bearing is around £150 + fitting. Also get the UJ's inspected while you're at it.

Don't try this at home.
mine's about £2.50 a mile over 2 years, how many miles have you driven? (or not as seems to be the case:D)

Strange steering problems!
sounds like your last alignment wasn't done properly. Go back to the same place and say the steering wheel is not straight and it's pulling to the side.

Any ideas please?
which means you're in safety boost or have boost leaks. Have you done an ECU check for codes? Otherwise pressurise the system to find leaks.

I gloated too soon...... and a warning
funny you mention this. A few days ago I developed a vibration at the rear around 120 (having had a local garage do some suspension work). Took my rears off today for the slicks at the pod and put them back on myself afterwards, strangely enough the vibration has gone!! Amazing the difference torquing the wheel nuts make. Speeds are in kmh obviously:D

Adjustable upper arms fitted
How low is yours John? Had all my arms adjusted with a 4-wheel alignment the other day after getting it all fitted. had -3.5deg and -4.5deg camber on the front!! anyhow, put it all in spec(camber, castor & toe), and found drivers side wheel sitting to far forward in the wheel arch and clipping the wing over every bump. That one has now been put back to avoid catching. Weird thing is the pass side is fine. (my car is lowered so much you can't put your hand between wheel & arch!) Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread. But yes I agree, the adjustable arms do wonders for the handling :D

Zclub Drag challenge dates....
went today, not a great turn out, and a very slippy surface. Not many people happy with there times, I only managed a 13.3 with slicks!!! really couldn't get any grip:cry: most TT's were in the 14's, Mike Feeny's 350 in the 15's (normally low 14's) etc. Did see the Norris Designs 200 that was for sale a little while ago (the 500+bhp), it was knocking out consistent 11's.

brake vibrations
no, I didn't, I'll try that when I get a chance. Thanks!

brake vibrations
I think the discs were fine when I received them as I didn't get the pulsing through the brake pedal until more recently. that's why I'm suspecting the brake bed in issue. Tony, that's an interesting one, probably only bushes on the car that didn't get replaced!!

brake vibrations
It's weird though as I didn't have it before, so maybe the extra stopping power is showing a new weekness, or it's because I didn't bed the pads in.

brake vibrations
when braking I'm getting vibrations through the steering wheel at 50mph+ speeds. I'm also getting some light pulsing of the brake pedal, especially noticable at low speeds and light application of the brakes. Now a bit of background, I've recently (2 months) put R34 calipers, grooved discs and new carbon kevlar pads on. As soon as I tried a serious stop with the new setup I had very heavy virations, the whole car was shaking, and this was due to the tension rod bushes being ripped to shreads. I had new adjustables waiting to go on, so no big deal. Now that the suspension has all been sorted and I'm still gettting the symptoms above (not as severe thankfully) I guess it can only be down to the discs. So they are either warped  or I think most likely, the pads have left an uneven surface as I couldn't break them in. Either way, what should I do now? Can the discs be skimmed, can any garage do that? or do i need to try different pads (have a spare set) Just looking for some advice really.
