  1. exactly, once the fluid's been boiled it needs replacing Kev, If you're happy with the stopping power, but want to get rid of fade, then change the fluid over, and put some better pads in that don't mind the heat! Other option is to buy ksport 8pot fronts, my rear setup and you'll never have to worry about brakes again!
  2. pretty much Kev - what are you doing to get fade? the stock setup shouldn't fade on the road
  3. If you get the graph and wheel figures I'll add you to the dyno section. What mods do you have?
  4. because you're not subscribed
  5. compared to other 17's, should be able to get some rays for not much money, even rota's are lighter from a quick bit of research I did
  6. the r33 17's are not that light ...
  7. Should fit, depends on style though. Trial fit before you commit

Sounds like the right steps, given the other comments on here how can we in turn better support the NEO, REO and the new MEO?
  9. Hi Tim, I'm sure a lot of people would like to see the details, very detailed build that goes like stink! Are you going to the next round?

Bump Speaking openly, the whole supporting motorsports thing is a joke as other than creating the subforum there's been no other visible 'support' from the club. There's been no interest from a committee or moderator perspective in the TOTB thread, one of the biggest events in the country where you can see the fastest cars up close and personal and actually being used! These events are so much more interesting than a static show There's a timeattack event in less than 2 weeks combined with a modified live event but nothings organised for that There was a BDC round last weekend at Teeside, again nothing on here ... These are events where Zed's are competing but the club is absent. These are all opportunities for the club to do better and to be regonised by other clubs. I'm not ranting, purely stating facts and trying to show how we could do better. Do we need a MEO?

    Elvington Aerodrome, just outside York

Can the NEO or the appropriate REO help with organising TOTB, it would be great to see the club there, rather than a few individuals. Noz has attempted to rally some support but he has a pretty busy time of it already! With the help of the NEO/REO we could get a few cars involved and it's a great, cheap weekend. Competitors don't have to do all the events, just a run up the qtr which is the same as a trip to santa pod :)
  13. you can practically see the tumbleweeds in here! I'm going, see you all there :)
  14. Andy, that was Rudi too - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?169361-Intake-manifold-ITB-testing
  15. Great work, just need to sort the throttle cables now but given the other challenges you've over come I'd imagine it's trivial for you
  16. Richard, I agree. A fully working stock setup is very good. I remember the first Zed I had the brakes were shocking because some nutter in Japan put race pads in that never came up to temp on the road. Some semi-metallic pads made a world of difference.
  17. 2 things, the calipers dont have anti knock back, which is why you get more bit on the second press. You can put none return valves in the lines to help with this. The extra long brake lines at the rear make temperature management an issue more than anything else. I've had ABS removed for some time, and the ksports front & rear combo are fantastic! I made them go soft after about 20mins on track but reckon that could have been fixed through different pads. Current setup is a bit nuts, hopefully with the pedal box it will even out and give me the consistent, (extra) strong braking force that I'm after.
  18. TOTB - that's the plan, though it's been around 7yrs since I did a qtr mile run!
  19. umm, nope! Spare engine is fully prepped ready to be dropped in, pedal box being installed so I can sort brake balance out. Then new loom to be fitted, switch ecu and then remap. Still, 3 weeks should be enough!
  20. Good going! All ready for TA and TOTB in a few weeks then :)
  21. eek 4-5bars will blow all your seals you only need a couple of psi really
  22. these are previous ones so that's ok :)
