Battery importance
Are you auto or manual? And why do you think your battery is too small?

Battery importance
that's not your battery, it's your alternator. The battery is only really used for starting the car, or powering stuff when the engine is not running

hks 2530s
no, same A/R options but the CHRA is different, the wheels are slightly different on the HKS

hks 2530s
sorry the HKS 2530 's are not the same as the GT28 disco potatoes, they are similar though

how fast can a z32 be?
Stock alloys with most likely mickey thompson street or full slicks. The width is not the deciding factor, it's the compound and side wall height for a good launch

What the hell is with the parts market for the z32
Great thread, but please don't get involved with AMS. They make cheap copies of things and are a serious concern for those few genuine innovators for the 300zx platform, eg Ash, BDE, SPL, SpecialtyZ

Wheel Woes!
for a knick like that I'd leave it, as a slight mismatch refurb will annoy you more. Anyway, you'll probably curb them in a few months - a mark that small will be the least of your worries!

Wheel Woes!
That sucks. Mine were originally formula silver, good luck matching that!

do NA's have a limp mode?
on the TT it retards the timing as well, I would expect it would do something similar on the NA, but don't know for sure

Time Attack Rd1 at Cadwell Park - Monday 01/04/13
Quick story of the day, not going to prattle on as I think the video shows a lot of it! I'd only done 3 or 4 laps at cadwell before and that was with blown turbo's so yesterday was a steep learning curve! Learning a very interesting track and getting used to the car with a much more agressive power band. My brakes are still mismatched as well, but will get that sorted for the next event, all focus had to be on the engine for this round. This is also why you see the rear getting *very* light on heavy braking Day started early, got up at six and left the B&B by 6:30am. Pulled over on a quiet bit of road to unload the Zed from trailer so I could get some heat in the engine and put some road miles on her on the way to the circuit. Got to the circuit at 7, found ourselves a spot, and then promptly got on with checking the car over and fitting the rain light at the rear. Then went through the usual signing on, briefings etc. We left the car on the Michelin Super sports for the first session, again for me to get used to that setup and the track. The red flag was out very early in the session and was shocked to see a bale on the track while returing to the puts, followed by Bob's car off the track. Having seen the remnants of the accident, I'm surprised the damage to the car isn't worse to be honest. Saw Bob walking around the puts shortly after so glad to see he was unhurt. The warm-up session resumed after clearing up, and my best lap of the session was a 1:50. We switched to the R888's and pushed on, my best time in the practice session being a 1:47. Both the morning sessions revealed a stumble in my map between gear shifts, so played with the emerald setup and managed to fix this :) After lunch, we had the qualifying session so some points up for grabs. Also charged the gopro inbetween but forgot to put the SD card back so no footage from that one. Shame as I was closely following a subaru on a flying lap, unfortunately he span just before 'gooseneck', so I also ended up spinning while avoiding him. Must have been quite the sight seeing both cars pirouetting together. Best time was a 1:45, 4th in class so some points - though didn't realise at the time. Final came along, and it was a real struggle to put in a flying lap, there was a yellow flag on the back straight, then combination of traffic or mistakes from me. Finally got a clean(ish) lap together and as I came onto the pit straight I saw the chequered flag, hesitated a bit then realised my lap would still count so booted it and bagged my fast lap. Parked the car on the trailer and it was only while chatting to another competitor did I learn that the time was a 1:43 and good for 3rd place  Looking at the timing sheet I then found I only missed 2nd by 9 thousandth of a second... My thanks to Jimmer for the support during the day and doing a great job prepping the car. As always it was good to catch up with Pete, I met Noel (Noz) who came along to support and had a good chat with him, didn't get a chance to speak with Bob much but not surprising given the circumstances.

Photo's and Video, story to follow later today when I get some time. A huge thanks to Jimmer though for getting the car complete on time, and putting a very solid engine together, didn't miss a beat all day Highlights [video=youtube_share;JWXF1FIvPCE] some pics from the TA photographer

Time Attack Rd1 at Cadwell Park - Monday 01/04/13
It was freezing! but the track was dry and pretty consistent throughout the day. Don't try to second guess the cause of the accident, I'm sure Bob & Pete will update once they understand it themselves. I feel bad for Bob as there is so much cost and effort involved just to turn up, so to have an incident, especially so early in the day must be crushing. Hopefully it can be repaired cheaply and be back for the next round. I'm wiped today, but will gather some pics / vids and post shortly

Rear ARB's
there are slight variations, they will all fit as long as you get the corresponding bushes TT have thicker rears than NA LWB have thicker fronts than SWB

trackday insurance?
competion car insurance will probably cover you. I have my insurance through them and includes 5 track days

Just when you thought you couldn't squeeze anything else into the engine bay...

guessing is now open !!
you stingy lot! if you have true twin air filters and the exhaust is at least 2.5" all the way through you should see over 550bhp at the fly. PE1420 have quite a punch

What did you do to your zed today?
you finally took the plunge! what size/offset did you get?

houston we have a problem
are you using the stock plumbing for your larger oil cooler? The oil pressure is high, though not end of the world. My knowledge gets a bit flaky at this point! What's it like on cold startup?
