stalling problems
cheers guys, looks like I'll be cleaning a lot of sensors tomorrow :) PS Idle is smooth at 750.. if I try to upset her by blipping the throtle hard at stand still it will go 3k down to 50:eek: (or stall) then back to 1000, drop to 900, then drop to 750. James

Stu, What kind of design did you go for in the end? And do you still have your old centre section going spare? If so, how much do you want for it?

stalling problems
Whenever I come to a halt quickly, usually traffic lights, or slow down quickly for a turing my Zed tends to stall if I don't dip the clutch at the last minute. It will also stall blipping the throtle to over 3k and letting off. the revs just keep dropping :( Now I've gone through the archive's and figured that it's the TPS. Soaked it in WD40 yesterday and it sorted the problem temporarily until it dried. Got some solvent cleaner today and attacked it with a toothbrush (did the CAS too :D ) but although it's made it better it's still happening. Opinions please? Did I do a sh*t job of cleaning it - it's not green anymore, or do I need to whack some copper grease or something on there? James

Buying another Z
I took the paper work to my local office to save a day, but I think it was 3 working days, and the tax disc arrived in the post on the 4th day. My time line when the car arrived was Monday - car arrived at docks, picked it up in the afternoon and drove it home (ran out of petrol as soon as I left the docks:eek: ) Tuesday - Mot'd Thursday - went to DVLA but didn't have customs form Friday - Customs and exise form arrived, took paperwork to DVLA Wednesday - tax disc arrived, Halfords wouldn't give me number plates Thursday - had number plates made somewhere else Since, spent a lot of money on fuel and maintenance, but worth every penny :D

Buying another Z
It's quite easy if you have all the paper work! this has all the steps in it DVLA but to summarise you'll need Bill of Lading Customs form C&E386 (proves you've paid your customs & VAT fees) Japanese de-registration document MOT & Insurance (based on chassis no.) £25 registration + 6/12 months TAX then go to DVLA Local Office (Sidcup is much easier than Wimbledon) fill in the form V55/5 , wait a few days and they send you tax disc and certificate with reg numer so you can have a number plate made up. All I had to do to mine to get past the MOT was add the rear fog-light. HTH James PM me if you want a hand

Nice work Stuart. Quick question, how bright did you have your UK cluster set to as you can hardly see them? You can hardly see the needles too. Or is this because the indiglo ones are that much brighter the camera doesn't pick them up? Thanks again for taking the time to do this James

Your plans for your ZX
no vibrations, but when braking hard from above 80 the front would squirm all over the place - very scary. Much better pedal feel too.
