  1. nice, have you tinted your reversing lights too??
  2. here you go from about 3/4 of the way down the page Quote Clean the coolant temperature sensor connector. If the temperature gauge drops under acceleration or goes up and down erratically under acceleration, clean or replace the temp. sending unit. It is located on the top aluminum pipe in the front of the motor. It is the sensor to the right with only one wire coming out of it. http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/hesitate2.html HTH James
  3. hard luck mate :( hope doesn't take too long to sort out
  4. no real gain as they aren't being used any more when you de-cat, so I just removed them to tidy up a bit. They were heavier than I thought they would be though :D
  5. this is the one I followed and it's spot on, even down to removing the vacuum lines http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/aiv/aiv.htm for some reason I thought it was a twinturbo.net one, but I think this was one was with a few others on AndyP's site. Took me 2 -> 2.5 hours all in. HTH James
  6. real easy to do, did mine yesterday, and apart from getting my hand covered in oil when i took the filter off there was no drama. Struggled to get the sump plug off but I think it was overtightened before. took about 45 mins all in I think (my first time) and I was a bit neurotic re-filling so that a took a little while. James

    ohh
  8. finished removing my aiv's this morning :D Only reason I removed them was because they weren't being used with the de-cat pipes on and I didn't like being able to see the two pipes dangling under the car a bit! Of course a write-up on how to do it on twinterbo.net helped! And for the Nelson's out there, I put both of them in a bag then on a pair of scale's - just over 3Kg together James Now to adjust my ride-height :D
  9. ps this is just my basic understanding from what I've read around the place and I could be completely wrong! Please someone correct me if that's the case :)
  10. I thought the AIV pipes should be blocked off?? Anyway, that's what I did, stuck big bolts up the tubes to block them and had no problems. HTH James PS Pretty sure AIV's worked on pulsing of the exhaust to creat vacuum, limiting the air to be re-cycled. If you leave it open it'll be sucking air all the time as the Aiv's have a vacuum pipe from the engine running to them.
  11. I'm pretty sure radar DETECTORS are not illegal - as you are slowing down for accident blackspots (not revenue makers - apparently) Laser DIFFUSERS are illegal as you're stopping the police do their job James
  12. well you can have my Bell 550 for that :D ;) ;)
  13. Hi Mike, Tein HA adjustables all round (on the car when imported), very firm but good on smooth roads, still playing with damper settings to give acceptable ride quality on rougher roads without having bouncy handling...nearly there! welcome to try it out if you like. James
  14. there's a fan there somewhere, check AndyP's site out (it's under the links section), I think there's a write up there HTH James
  15. you might want to check out this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20714 James

  17. your wobble under braking could be your tension rod bushes... don't know if you've tried this yet HTH James
  18. yup, just checked mine and they where fully lit up :D
  19. if you mean the full width of the lights, like the side lights, it should do anyway unless your inner ones have been converted to a fog-light. Wire up a relay so you can still use them as brakes when you've got the fogs off - There have been a few threads about this recently HTH James
  20. Also ment to say that if you want any money for this up front, just ask. Feel a bit guilty waking this on someone else's credit card :) James

This is basically the set up I used with a 6 point relay to switch between circuits. This then hooks up onto the inner brake lights, replacing the brake light signal with the one from the relay. You'll want an illuminated switch to pass the MOT pic HTH James

Uk cars have fog-lights in the rear bumper... shame you couldn't get the relay stuff working, looks good when sorted - ask smw1 :D I've also seen a strip fog light attached under the rear number plate..
  23. basic but once you put some white dials in there it'll have to be the carbon or ali :D
