I'll let you all know how it goes next week. But I'm pretty sure it's legal to drive to and from an MOT. So the secret is to have the MOT booked near home, drive there, cancel the booking and drive home.... or sit the MOT, still cheaper than transporting it LOL

As some of may know, I'm going to picking up my zed next week, only problem being it arriving in Southampton - it'll cost a fortune to have it delivered to London!! Only idea I have so far is to book an MOT near home and drive it back - I think this is legal, even the girl at the port suggested this. Of course having no plates will attract a lot of attention and I'll probably get pulled over a fair few times :( So... does anyone know where I can get trade plates that will be valid for the day or week? Or better ideas? Thanks in advance, James

Thanks for the nice comments, looking forward to seeing it myself!! As for what exhaust, I dunno... I'll investigate further when it arrives ... and cost, not sure yet, but it will probably be 5k to 5.5k including a 60k service when it arrives and fitting a Cat1 alarm. Cheers, James

I do remember someone on here suggesting carrying your front number plate in the boot in case you get pulled over, and then say it fell off :D :D Not sure of legality though

Don't suppose someone has the wiring diagram kicking around anywhere? I've trawled through the archives but the only link I found was dead. I'm refering to the one where you convert the inner brake lights and use a relay to keep them working when the fogs are off. Thanks, James

out of interest, has anybody splashed out for the HID lights from the later model Z's. Just thought it would be interesting to compare while everybody is on the subject of lighting. Obviously there's the small matter of a couple of hours and a roll of foil against a grands worth of your heard earned dough :D
