  1. you could relocate the battery to the rear, that would help
  2. 1) I already had an AFC 2) really don't like the driveability upgrade pipe 3) didn't want to get another chip jsut for this. to be honest using the JWT setup this is the only way I would consider to ensure all the air is metered, otherewise it would have to be the DOOLZ setup to balance the airflow before the MAF readings.
  3. I'm planning on writing a FAQ about this, wiring diagrams, alternative options, when's the best time to do it etc...
  4. setting up my dual POP  Here's a before and after pic, using JWT Dual POP, dual MAF, Apexi filter x2 and Apexi S-AFC to add the MAF output's together for the ECU. The idle is rock steady and I can see the pass side sucking more air due to the IAA/AAV. Went for a quick blast, no detting at 1 bar and pick up seems a bit smoother but I may be imagining that :p
  5. It does look like a good idea, though I think it would depend on the shape of the sensor you use. I only say this as I tried to connect my oil pressure sender in the US location above the oil filter and it fouled the steering U/J. Put it all together again and I couldn't steer - seriously unimpressed!
  6. the Apexi ones fit too
  7. yes it will be fine as the one MAF is reading all the air. However, it's hardly worth it as the airflow from both intakes is then restricted by the size of the MAF.

yup, good to see some new faces along with the usual suspects!
  9. arghh! you need a special twin-POP chip to double the airflow, not any old chip :slap:
  10. did yu get the filter kit new? in which case you chould have got a chip with it. dual POP is not much use to you at the moment, try a single filter first, then get a chip and up the boost. I think you may be hard pressed to find a chip for standard injectors and twin filters. Don't really know how much HP an auto will take before melting it but there's plenty on here with a standard box and higher boost.
  11. hks

    do a search for ALC...
  12. the two real options I think are 1) the Z1 doolz pop - single MAF. The design balances the airflow so you only need the one MAF 2) JWT dual POP with Dual MAF and an AFC to add/average both MAF's before sending signal to the ECU. I'm in the middle of wiring my second MAF with the JWT dual POP using Apexi SAFC2 to add the signals before going to my ECU...
  13. come down in the supra, we generally like all Jap cars and there's no point you missing out on the fun. I'll be a good chance to meet loads of people off the forum...
  14. just tap into the intake piping wherever you like, it's just to balance both sides... What other mods have you got? may not be worth putting it all on yet ...
  15. you need to read read read!! what other mods do you have? You'll need either a new chip or some sort of AFC to double up your MAF readings. The pipe is a drivability upgrade that may or may not be needed depending on the chip you use. It's only for idle as the IAAV valve will pull more air from the passanger side when idle....
  16. surely the thermostat will take care of all that and only pump coolant through the rad when it's needed. Otherwise any car with a big rad will take much longer to warm up. Anyway, the viscous fan is always on
  17. :nelson: get a room!
  18. no probs, good thing you replaced the whole thing as that looks nasty!
  19. I have the Apexi and I'm very happy with it. There are quite a few others on here with it too. I went for it as it matches the AFC, has gear based boost control (which I haven't set up yet) and it's easy to use. And I only paid 240 for it through a huge Groiup Buy :D
  20. tell you what, we can split a new set ok UK clocks, I'll take the speedo and you take the rest if we can't sort it !! :D
  21. fair enough, defo looks better anyway!
  22. i though it was there to protect the bonnet paint from pealing with the heat?
  23. not quite the units you were looking for but it may help!
