  1. thought that might be the case, what a bummer that is, looks like i'll have to have them out again then, bugger. that job was a right pig an all. doesnt really help having rubbish spring compressors, that get in the way of everything. oh well time to don the boiler suit again. Cheers for that.
  2. mine where knackered when i did mine snd fell apart so neglected to put any in in, dont think it causes a problem, although i have a feeling it might have something to do with the annoying squeeking i'm getting now
  3. Been stocking the bits up bit by bit for a rebuild over the winter, is it possible to use bigger valves??? if so where can i get them
  4. Hello, sorry for this question but these upper arms seem to be causing me problems. Not sure what make these arms are got them from a guy from over ebay( came from z centre) has the purchase order in box. They look very much like the spl ones they have the blue lock collars and the bearing ends are blue. Any way when the lock collars are slack the movement in the arms were the thread goes into the shaft is a hell of alot, well i dont think there should be that much play anyway. had a look at the spl fitment guide and it says the shft should allign with the centre of the arch mounting, well mine dont to be honest they are of centre which ever way you have them, have bared the collars up with an alun key and a foot of scafold pole as this was the only way to stop the bloody play in the joints. right the way i have the in a the moment is with the longer end of the horizontal facing the shocks, is correct or should it be the shorter part??? also now with the way they are i can twist the third link on the king pin about 10 degrees either way and that cant be right. can someone let me no how they fited theirs, starting to feel like these are a naf set of arms, sorry for the question but this is really bugging me now, cheers all.
  5. hmm occasionally think i get the same problem, its like when you fether the throttle pedal it feels like its goin to almost cut out, but mine generally only does this in the cold and then sometimes never at all, not very good pulling out of junctions on those cold mornings. i havent really taken much time on the engine, totally overhauled the susp. but engine will be next. i would have guessed tps, or maybe a choked injector or something.
  6. possibly, have you checked the conx ???
  7. i dont think so its not really a squeel from the brakes, its like something is moving/ vibrating, tell you what its like, those balls you get for pets that when you shake em they like squeek. looks like i'm gonna have to have the wheel off and get the grease gun filled up.
  8. lol, ive gotta adj upper arms tension rods next week, just done the shocks, i,m hoping the tension rods cure it, at the moment its like here comes that growling zed up the road, oh no wait a minute its just vauxhall cavalier with a blown zorst, well embarrising
  9. its most of the time as it goes, if the car is left over night its fine to begin with then after abit off a drive and a few bumps the pain starts, make it go away someone. its even worse than the girlfriend nagging me i can ignore that, hope she doesnt read this, think a tub of grease is in order
  10. no not the bonnet catch, damn
  11. bonnet catch you say, i'll investigate and come back. Just done the shocks and the upper arms so dont think it will be them. still got the stock rods on though ( I know bad idea) will get a set from smithy next week.
  12. what about the one on the blue zed in the background, im liking those badboys
  13. Got this annoying squeeking coming from the front drivers side, its not evident over large bumps in the road, just when i'm driving along normally, would a tension rod bush cause this ???? Its really getting on my tits. the front wheels have been of so much recently I cant bear to take it off again.
  14. japtech in southampton are good, reasonable labour costs aswell

  16. Hawk, potterfield, reds or greens
  17. still dont understand why my alarm is now fooked, unless its coinsidence but i doubt it
  18. i'm confused now, is my problem a problem or can i just leave it be??? Think modder is probably right as the level in the tank is constant
  19. got these of ebay, anyway went to fit them, obviously the fitment regarding the plug is different, so cut them of and wired them in got the first one in ok and it appeared to be working ok(flashed when alarm) anyways tried the other side and the f***er wouldnt have it which ever way i put the wires. anyways now its fooked my alarm central locking, well pissed off, should hae been an easy job, anyone got these repeaters, or fitted before???, think it might be a polarity issue, but electrics really not my thing, any ideas chaps???
  20. Hello All, Strange problem going on, now and then in no particular interval my zed decides to dump aload of coolant, this is coming from the front left where the expansion tank is. The level in the coolant tank reads way above the "H" mark in fact its almost full???? The car never overheats, temp always good, no H.G. issues. I cant understand it, is it just a case of the tank being overfilled?? ive never had to touch the cooling system before, but like i said the car does it when it pleases but doesnt overheat. Any ideas will be appreciated
  21. hmmmm, are they the plug n play type, or will i have to fiddle about with wiring???
  22. could someone please tell me what fitment i need, i want the hids for the dipped headlights, car is a j spec tt auto, cheers guys.
  23. if you can get a pic up sometime, that would be helpful. but if the opinion is its unacceptable, then the machine shop is obligated to rectify there mistake regardless of the cost to themselves, if it turns out the mistake is difficult to put right, then they have no choice but to machine another.
