  1. lol, nobody loves me
  2. its just the two through bolts i need to touch is it not
  3. dunno cant seem to find any or even where i check to be honest
  4. not that i'm aware off, hang on i'll check
  5. so i can just knock the bolts through, and whack the new ones straight in, nothing else to worry about
  6. theres loads online, have a look at the zed centre theres some good ones on there. But you will need a whole heap a cash, becuase they are not cheap
  7. I'm going to do my front upper arms tomorrow, my question is when i remove the oem ones will the springs come out of tension??? if so i guess i will have to get some spring tensioners to get the new arms on????
  8. not entirely correct that, the mass of actual alloy due to differing densities will definitely effect the brakes, becuase torque is directly related to the radius and angular velocity, the interface between rubber and alloy is not a negligable value
  9. Definately the 99 spec spolier looks the business
  10. this is probably a stupid question but here goes anyway, Are all the engines in the zed the VG30 type??? Its just that on some websites that engine appears to have its own section
  11. when you say it affects driveabilty, exactly what do you mean by that, i.e. does it get silly to drive???
  12. like i said i am planning to keep the car, although the guy told me that if you are going for a big hp high compreesion set up then, i must be very careful as he did it to one zed and it almost made it undriveable due to the ammount of grip you get.the one he did was 600rwhp, and the guy wrecked it within 2 days, coz as soon as you hit the torque bands the back end decides to be the front end. He said maybe go for a low compression engine with to widen the torque bands to give loads of bottom end grunt.
  13. with a far greater mass of wheel, the brakes will effected one way or the other, seeing as zed brakes are inherently rubbish anyway, definately get them upgraded.
  14. thats decided it then, i definately dont want to wippin the rears out to make adjustments
  15. Well put it this way, I'm aware that it wont add anyvalue to the car, so it wont be worthwhile if i were going to sell in 6 months time but thats not the idea. You will have to excuse my ignorance i dont kow a huge ammount about ecu,s. He said to me that it will cost around £1500 all in. seems alot. but will the beneifts be worth it. I dont plan to sell the car, i want to restore it and upgrade it to something unique. He said this would be the best way to go if thats what my intentions were.
  16. thats where i'll be getting mine from anyway, havent seen them any cheaper, obviously the unit price in the u.s. is cheaper but by the time you whack shipping and tax on em, there more expensive plus the hassle of delivery.
  17. Well mines a jap spec tt, i have 19" 265s rear and 19" 245s on the front, i dont have a wide arch convo on mine but they look good, If you got the stock wheels, i think they are 215s but not certain. My rears are 10.5s and the fronts are roughly 9.5s. Like i said mines not wide arched but the ones i have fill the arch quite nicely, and will look even better when i whack the eibach springs on. Only bad point is the stock disc look like a 2 pence pieces stuck in the wheel.
  18. smithy does them for a good price, check out his web page
  19. Hello, What do think about this then???? Went up to see my mechanic today to speak about ecu upgrades for my zed, What he came up with was this, to have what he described as a stand alone ecu, which will actively contol every aspect of the cars performance, this he said is laptop compatible and contol every thing from ignition re-tardation to boost, getting rid of all the unneccesary wiring which is renound in jap spec cars. This inturn will make any remapping a whole lot easier and more accurate for the engine, so as i upgrade peice by piece the ecu will always be ok to handle the extras. The guy in question has an excellent motor sport background, any thoughts on this then????
  20. Yeah i thin i should be ok when i do it, like i said in another thread the shocks and springs need doing so i guess it will be a good idea to do the whole lot in one sitting.Only thing that is a concern is the clearnance i have from the tyre to the arch, the eibachs lower the car but about 20mm i think, i have about 30 mm ish clearance as i have 19 inch rims, do you think thid will be a problem???
  21. yeah thats the way i will probably go, there not excessively expensive compared to the koni ones, infact i can get the eibach springs with the KYBs for the price of the koni shocks, so that seems the best solution.
  22. Need to get some new shocks for my zed as the stock ones are just about to throw there hand in i think, the koni ones are more expensive, does anyone have either of these on there zed?? if so how are they, ive been advised that the tein ones are rock solid and should steer clear
  23. Forget ever buying any turbos of fleeebay as you put it, lol. It will hurt your pocket believe me, I havent done it but a friend of mine did, and sure enough they lets just say rubbish. save your pennies alot of them, get some hks gts
  24. Get some 19s, 265s, but remember the bigger the wheels get the worse your brakes will be, I have 19s on my zed, the brakes wernt to clever before but they are pretty rubbish now, its running on stock discs and callipers at the minute, but finally i'm a ordering a big brake upgrade from tarox tomorrow, cost alot but it will be nice for my zed to funally stop when i ask it to.
  25. Hello, Just landed myself a set of spl upper arms as the oem ones were rubbish with quite abit of play of play in them, I'm looking to fit these my self along with the new tension rods I have. I,m pretty good with the spanners, but would like to know how difficult it will be for me to fit the new arms?? I know i will need an alignment afterwards but its the initial fitting i'm interested in. If someone could shed some light on the matter i would be most greatful. Cheers Dutchy.
