The great insurance thread 2009!
one thing to add if mine was a uk I could have had it for around £230
-
Post count.....
I've been here a while and if you look back over the years most of the threads are repeated all the time, ie auto box failure , water leaks, what wheels, etc as most people don't use the search which is general ok but when people post a thread titles as "help me!!" doesnt help the seach function much, i generally dont post much as i do use the search function alot as its the info is still valid now as it was back then.

Which gearbox does your Z have ?
mines auto, but from all the hype i hear of auto > manual conversions then I would definately go for it, pity my box is in perfect working order and I can't simply justify changing it as its worthless 2nd had even in good working order. I've yet to drive a manual TT so don't know what I'm missing so more than happy with it at the moment.

300ZX NA Fuel Economy
Agreed, mines stock and on average i just drive to work 14mile round trip and generally get 200-220 to a tank, still its a fun car and nissan werent to far from the truth on their official figures.

300ZX NA Fuel Economy
I know my fuel light rather well, once managed to get 71 litres in the zed, which aint bad considering its a 72 litre tank :D
-
300ZX NA Fuel Economy
well my TT auto does around 16-18 mpg around town/commute to work, but can get 26mpg on motorway cruise, so would seem about right. What were your calculations to get this figure, what i do is basically brim to nearly overflowing, reset trip, giving me about 70 litres, run it down till the lights on, can do about 30 miles with it on, then refill it to brimming, noting how many miles and how many litres to fill it.

no mot or tax, legal implications
had a quick search but can't find any ruling on it having to be the nearest one, if you got pulled would the police have any idea on where your nearest one is, i've done the same thing in the past, taken them to the same station with several closer.

yep so long as its booked in and you only drive it the day its booked to and from the test station its fine.

over drive
turning over drive off gives you more engine braking ability and better for town driving, overdrive on for cruising and saving fuel lol, i wont make alot of difference really, turning cruise on with the pod control should give a green light on the dash to tell you its activated, then pressing set on the steering wheel should light the other green bulb next to it, does this happen?

"sunday 5th july"
well it seems odd tbh, I thought the idea of subscriptions was so we could get access to meets and have a stand, bbq's etc. as the major club 300zx club in the uk it's rather dissapointing.

Anyone into Photography - Need DSLR Advice
Well from what i've head and seen of the A200 its a pretty good camera for the money, i personally went down the 2nd hand canon route due to the fact one was goin very cheap and 2nd hand stuff is in plentiful supply. Best thing to do is go have a feel for some of them in a shop, you want something that fits well in your hand, i find the entry level stuff like the 450d too small for my hands and also the bigger stuff has the all metal bodies and is more balanced in your hand. I was a complete novice when i started, so read a few books "Understanding Exposure" is great for about 12 quid from amazon, really explains the ins and outs in a not too technical manner, also there are some free lessons on the internet if you search that explain more about composition, rule of thirds etc.

Japshow Santa Pod 2009 Heads Up 21st June
Doesnt seem to be much of an interest in this show is it legendarily bad? I've never been before but its only 100 miles away and while the zed is running and looking goodish, be good to see some more zedders :hyper:

are dell lapops any good
Dell are pretty good generally, please don't buy a Toshiba though, Toshiba's used to be good when they made laptops themselves, most of the retail ones they sell now are quite frankly pants.
