  7. Hi Dave, You had to be one of that 20%, didn't you..... Just like your Z, just when you think you repaired it, you find something more to repair...... I've got everything crossed for you, hoping you get into the 80% success rate this time....... I still owe you a drink for your help and support, so hurry up and get better!!!!....
  8. I need a good rear wheel bearing/hub......
  9. I went for a drive and found a loud whine from the rear..... think I may have a wheel bearing needing replacement....:crying:
  10. Have you checked the settings for the throttle position sensor? The unit feeds the Auto transmission ECU with information on the throttles position. If this has gone bad then the Transmission ECU won't get the correct signal to change gear at the correct rev range. https://z32.wikispaces.com/Throttle+Position+Sensor It might be worth checking the connections aren't corroded on the throttle sensor connectors and Transmission loom connectors as well..... Also.... To check Transmission Fluid.... Warm up the engine and driving her for about 30 minutes, this will warm up the transmission. Then with the engine running and in park, dip the dipstick and check the level and colour of the fluid. If it is dark and smells burnt it could be a failing transmission. If it is red and clean, then the fluid should be okay... Check dipstick level carefully as there is a hot and cold level on there.... If it isn't any of these..... and you feel able to undertake this.... The next step is getting her in the air, dropping the fluid if you have a drain plug, dropping the transmission sump, cleaning the wire mesh filter in the transmission or replacing it and cleaning off the metallic gunk from the magnet that sits stuck to the inside of the sump. If you do this and remove the filter, there is an O'ring in the Transmission to filter hole. Make sure you don't damage this as it won't pick up transmission fluid if you pinch it. Like trying to suck through a straw with a hole in it! http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/autoTrannyOilChange/autoTrannyOilChange.html I have now spent so much time trying to sort the transmission on mine over the past few years, some of the information has now been etched onto my brain....lol Mine all had failed solenoids in them..... and no codes were showing on test.... Finally swapped for a good working one 2 weeks ago..... I hope this is helpful.... Russ
  11. I am up for this Chris.......... Do you want me to drop the money off to you? 1. Chrisbasildon 2. ZEDDASH 3. Kgonzokia 4. Veilside01702
  12. VW golf? Smart ForFour?..... lol....
  13. Congratulations Jerrick and the team....... Looked fun.......
  14. Well after Chrisbasildon sorted the transmission for me, she felt slower than I remembered.... But enjoyed driving to work for 2 days.... The boost gauge wasn't working and EBC did nothing. A bit of checking pipework revealed I had pinched the vacuum pipe under the glove compartment when I refitted the wooden cover over the ECU. After releasing the vacuum hose and going for a spin, I had to return home to change my underwear.... I have got too comfortable in a 4wd Audi..... Rear end breaking away caught me out.... but fun.... lol Today I took her out for a spin after work and realised why I love my Z...... I still have a vacuum leak somewhere as she keeps stalling when I come to a stop, but I know I need to replace the hardened rubber hoses in the engine bay. I am soooooo loving having her back on the road, I don't want to drive the Audi at the minute...... Sorry, can't stop smiling......
  15. My Automatic Transmission was swapped for me by Chrisbasildon........ Absolute Diamond!!! Chris came round early and just worked so hard, I supplied Tea and Coffee and passed him tools and jacked things up and down.... lol I now have a working Z...............:clap::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::clap::clap::clap: Thank you soooooooooo much Chris!!!!!!
  16. Today I had the pleasure of passing tools to Chrisbasildon, lending a hand and making coffee while he swapped my Automatic transmission from the broken NA one to the now working TT one....... Building a Prop shaft out of the TT and NA ones into the correct length needed... I am so grateful to Chris for giving up his day to come round and get my Z up and running again....... He is an absolute diamond...... So I am now back on the road again and looking forward to going to a few meets with the family this year..... Museum of power, Battlesbridge and Beaulieu........ Just need to save up for the respray now............
