I wish I could be more helpful, I have had major grief with mine but I am lucky being a mechanic so I tend to kinda fumble my way around with faults. The manual is helpful and handy as its in pdf file format on a cd. I think as some of the guys have said already it might be a corroded connector onto an injector or maybee the PTU on the offside front of the engine front cam cover, I have had my car running like a bag o shite all because of this too. I got a back bearing for 80 quid from Brown Bros here in Glasgow, a lot more expensive than the front one as it is a bearing and carrier. They are a nationwide company, by the time you get a back bearing from USA with import tax and delivery i bet its more expensive than getting them here. Also it was an SKF bearing kit I got so its not crap quality. Front bearings are about 30 quid from the same place. Cheers John Crisp

I bought a belt from Nissan for about 50 quid and did the belt myself, I cant say about garages local to Biggar but my mate works in a garage in Darvel in Ayrshire, the owner had a 300 as did my mate so they know the cars. If it helps I could get a phone number and send it on to you. On my Autodata CD the time for the belt is 4.3 hours if that makes sense, I took a week when I had my car at my old work and worked on it when I could. Cheers John Crisp

When my PTU packed it in, my car cut out after like 10 minutes running, engine not fully warm, then again 2-3 times driving home it cut out and wouldnt start, when I eventually got home it cut out while I was messing about with it and wouldnt restart, I left it for 2 days, 1st turn of the key it fired up. Ron From Barrhead when I go into Darvel from the M77, I turned left off the main street at the start of Darvel. I cant for the life of me remember the name of the garage but I can vouch for work done on my GT4 that my father in law owns now and also another mates Scooby getting the belt changed. I also have a mate who works from a garage in Darvel if its any good, the owner had a zed as did my mate and they do all kinds of performance car work. If it helps i could get the number. Smoke on one side and the oil leak to me points to a turbo but as with cars they are a nightmare to work on. Cheers John Crisp

I took mine off for an oil leak at the LH rocker cover, which has started leaking again, to be honest it comes off quite straight forward but a bottle of tipex is a must, mark every connection/pipe that u remove and I took pictures at various stages as well. I am gonna watch this post as I am gonna have to remove mine again to see if there is anything that should be done while its off as I am not sure. HTH Cheers John Crisp

Billy Am I right in saying that the sound being fooked is either a conflict between the consoles or one of the consoles is upsetting the other one as when i played a cd in the dvd the sounds crap as well. So I need a switchable scart socket or just unplug the ones not being used. Cheers John Crisp

Anyone help with this small problem I have, I bought an adaptor for my scart socket on my TV that branches to 5 so that I can have the kids DVD player/ PS2/X-BOX all hooked up at once to the TV. When PS2 or DVD is put on the sound has to be put up full on the tv and has interference coming throught it. I have unplugged the X-BOX scart lead from the adaptor and the sound is fine when playing the PS2 but as I say when all 3 are connected the sound doesnt work. :headvswal Cheers John Crisp
