Bored and drunk.
I think a lot of the problems with diagnosing faults (like abs Alan) are down to Manufacturers making cars/buses/trucks etc overly complicated so that in most occasions the vehicle has to be taken into the dealer to be repaired. Again dealers have a bad name but thats another story. Also in the dealer the way the training courses are pushed in mechanics/technicians directions, there are few people who go on the courses actually use or get to use the training they had which could be down to supervisors putting people on the course as they are better out of the garage for a week. In my previous 2 jobs I know people who have had courses on quite a few items relating to work but have never been given a fault to fix in the garage as the supervisor knows they wont fix it....which is wrong. Also the way the products are designed, there is more reliance on electrics, which to most people the answer is fook that get an electrician thats his job. For me I think the manufacturers have got a lot to answer for, but then again its all down to people's attitudes as well......do they want to fix the fault or is it the fook it i havent been trained on that attitude. Many points here but still no answer to them. Sorry for warbling......had a day from hell and am sober as well. Cheers John Crisp

Peter My mate works at Fleetpoint in Darvel, he and the owner of Fleetpoint both have owned 300's in the past and have done engine swaps etc. They have done work for a few of my mates who have evo's/scoobies. My father in law also had work done on his GT4 recently, but I have had no experience of their work etc. Worth a phone call, 01560 322820. HTH Cheers John Crisp

oil pump
Why if you are not 100% sure its the pump are you ordering parts. Would it not be better to remove the engine/drop the sump and check the pump and then decide whether or not to replace it if thats deffo whats nachered. You could end up replacing the pump and there aint nothing wrong with it. With the costs involved i'd prefer to be 100% sure before I ordered as there aint no point throwing parts/money at the car unless your 100% sure. Cheers John Crisp

NZR PC Software Issue
I am trying to install a program onto a Windows 98 laptop but I cant copy it into 'My documents'. All the files apart from one will copy, its called 'owl252.dll, I have the software working on a laptop with Windows 98 to which it saved and works no problem. The software in question is from the nineties and only requires to be copied to C-drive and a creating a shortcut from one of the copied file, real old software. Anyone have any ideas why I cant copy the software, I get a message ("Cannot copy Owl252.dll. The system cannot read from the specified device"). The software is installed from a floppy.Feckin computers again ffs. :headvswal Cheers Guys n gals John Crisp
