how much you pay!!
zeds+ fuel, =bad, with the price of fuel at the moment its harsh, but once you start driving the zed, forget about it, the joy factor overtakes the price of fuel, when driving around in a zed just look at the looks you get, or stupid little corsa's wanting to have a go. just smile and put your foot down, sure, you will destroy them, and waste loads of fuel but thats all the fun...its all part of the game

London, one day !!!
forget the dungeons, if you want to be freaked out, go and do the london bridge experience. a guided tour of how and why the bridge was made. then the 2nd part of the tour is going into the recently uncovered catacombs, with actors and lots of jumps, like being in your own saw film. Then head over to china town (leicester square) for a decent meal.

2.5 hours to change a rear wheel bearing...
well chuffed, got a brand new offside rear wheel bearing of a guy from ebay that had it as spare. having checked all the bushes which were fine, the only issue was the hicas ball joint, replaced it, but the wheel still moved side to side, dreading doing the bearing ive been searching for a complete hub. And from reading posts about how difficult it is and how long it takes. So while the other half is out for the day and the weather is sunny on the south coast. Off i go, removed brakes, disc, shoes, undid the drift shaft nut, which was easy. all the bushes, hub was off in less than an hour. Now the fun begins. the bearing and carrier are super tight. into a vice it goes, and clamp on a puller. tighten it up to the point of the puller snapping, leave it, and place my plumbers blow torch on the vice and heat it up. whilst its doing this i go and make a coffee. couple of mins later i come out to find the blow torch still going, but the bearing has fallen out of the carrier. Result...... now with new bearing ready, a bit of copper grease on the carrier, back in the vice and tap it home. Put it all back together tighten everything back up. rebuild and adjust the rear shoes. wheel back on and no movement at all. all nice and solid. So well chuffed, not only have installed a brand new bearing, and got the handbrake working perfectly, from off to 5 clicks up, both wheels lock good. Not bad for 2 and half hours, and the bearing only cost me £20.

Could you pass a British citizenship test???
LOl have a go at this, well me and my other half have got to pack our bags as clearly we dont have the knowledge to gain it. Both of us scored 46% and we were rejected. Really pi**ed now as i was just weeks from getting the zed on the road. Have a go and post up your results. Could the last one to leave Britian please switch the lights off. Will be interesting to see the results. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/make-bradford-british/articles/channel-4-citizenship-test

Orbea bikes knowledge
As some know, i work for a housing association as a plumber, builder etc. One of my jobs is clearing out houses after tenants have been evicted, basically from the date of possession order they are given 7 days to remove their items, anything that remains after this time is classed as rubbish. Whilst clearing out a house today, i found some keys to the garage of the house, upon opening it up. To my amazement, amongst the rubbish was a Orbea mans racing bike. Its looks like its never been ridden. it has all the serial numbers and stickers, and is a sapphire blue frame. As i went to lift it, it weighs no more than 2 or 3 kgs, to say its super light is and understatement. tiny thin racing tyres, everything works and is in near perfect condition. Thinking it was nicked, i called a copper mate of mine, and there is no trace of the serial number. Work said to me it is classed as rubbish, so if you want it, its yours. I took if for a quick ride to check the gears (which are built into the handlebars, not like a normal bike) and it absolutely fly's, im more of a mountain bike man, but after looking on ebay, similar bikes are going for nearly £2000. Anyone know much about racing bikes. will put up a piccie later. stu

Tracker
we had them fitted to all our work van transits. poxy things, show where you are, where you have been, show top speed, average speed, when you started work and when you got home. No more private plumbing jobs. But on a good note, one of our guys got a speeding ticket from a mobile van, that said he had been doing 36 on a 30 road, but doing a search on the tracker software we could pin point the route he had taken and the road were caught, tracker showed at no point did he drive over 27 mph. submitted it as evidence to court, and the case was dropped. On transits they usually put the gubbins and chip in the drivers air vent, not saying this blocks the signal, but if you wrap the box in tin foil lots of it., showed our gas man was 252 miles off the coast of natal, south africa in the middle of the ocean. when in reality he was at a house in worthing.

rear drivers side bearing
ive just won a brand new rear wheel bearing for my tt, for a crazy price compared to what nissan want.. anyone changed one, what are they like to do. I know i have to remove the driveshaft and undo the m12 nuts, do they need to be pressed in, or will a decent puller work.

Stolen zed
very lucky mate, that its been found intact, when i was in the old bill 95% of cars stolen were usually trashed or trashed and torched to get rid of any forensics. But from what your saying it dosent sound to bad, if that's all, plenty of breakers with the bits. keep us updated. stu

headlight cleaning
for best results, need to take apart carefully and clean the lense. makes a massive difference. if any of the adjuster cogs are knackered replace them with tamiya rc diff gears. Just heat up the glass edge with a hairdryer and take your time.
