  2. Thanks to all who went, great laugh. Looked wicked in the mirrors, all these zed's following a plumbing van, then loosing you all but one, then somehow being in front again after your little detour via Horsham. Got to Brighton all in one piece. Cheers to Joley P, for backing out of the multi storey carpark for me, the van and roofrack would have been definatley wedged in like a b***stard.
  3. Jason, He was a total twat, how to make friends and influence people comes to mind, we should of created a diversion on the other side of the car park, then i could have used my 14" petrol cutter. Cheers for a good fun day, all be it in the plumbing van. (Its not as quick as the zed's) stu
  4. 8. Hi all. Dont know if anyone has come across this site before, check it out, some excellant video footage of just about anything. http://www.metacafe.com Loads of vids and pic's, nothing too hard core on the porn side, but once you start looking, you cant stop. very addictive, Has a few 300zx's on there, if you search cars or bikes, there is some seriously quick bits of kit out there. Its good. Stu
  9. Sorry mate, awkward one, as the police cameras are calibrated reguarly, to maintain that they are accurate. If the speedo and sat nav show that amount of difference, you should always go with what the vehilce speedo is saying. As if you use that as a defense it it goes to court, you can put money on it the police will have it covered, that their kit is accurate. You can always try the im really sorry approach, and need to keep your insurance premiums down as you have too many other commitments, (family, mortgage, rent etc) chances are the pionts will stand. Sorry.
  10. Have you got any pvc suppliers (facis, sofits, white plastic etc) if so they do a thing call WEBCLEAN for cleaning black roof tar or white polished surfaces, not abrasive, try on a small area first, see what happend, be carefull of the heater strips in the rear window. don rub to hard. I used to use it when i was a valeter. Good for driend on bugs to, but wash off paintwork straight away.
  11. the first check only checks for insurance, whether you are covered or not, it you are the police are not bothered. If you are insured, and do get hassle, you can allways say that u told the insurance comany and plead thats they knew., 99/100 police are only interested if you are or not. If you have insurance now, and its ok then fine, but if you a have a prang, you can bet they will might bring up some clause. But the police are only intrested if you have insurance or not, Because by the time they have checked it out, given u a producer, 7 days later when the notice comes up for checking , if its all in order, the paperwork is filed. They are more interested in the ones who cant produce. Hope this helps a bit. Stu
  12. The police database PNC (police national computer) does never cancel any info on someone, its always there. E.g You get banned say 8 years ago, for whatever, and tomorrow you get caught drink driving, when charged, a record of previous offences will be produced as evidence to the court. as it was within a 10 years period. If you are still banned, if the police stop you, they will find out sooner or later if they know what they are doing, ie been in the job for a while, As if the vehicle is not reg to you and you cant proove your id, they have a power to arrest u on the spot, for basically not believeing you are who say you are. But if the car is in your name, and anything shows up, (didnt pay the premium, it will flash no Insurance, year u might get away with a 7 day wonder, but its olny for 7 days you will be ok. then the poo will hit the fan, If found driving within within a certain time period of the ban, (usually 3-6 months) you will get an extra 12/18 months on top of the ban, but they are slaming people harder now, unless you can proove that the only option is a fine, ie you need to work, there is a good chance of getting anything upto 6 months, at one of her majestys bed and breakfasts. 13. Trust me there is more on the DVLA database than you think, (ex copper) The Police, DVlA and insurance companies all share the same info, The police have a thing called ANPR. Automated number plate reader, Basically, a white van white blacked out windows to the rear sits on the side of the road. Inside is a very powerfull camera, It will take your number plate details from upto 3/4 mile away, and speed, If anything flashes up, (as it links with DVLA, and Insurance) alarms go of inside, Such things as No Tax, No Insurance, or vehilce has been used in crime, or speeding will flash up instantly. There is usually a cop car parked somewhere ahead, when as soon as u pass, will jump on you. The insurance co's use the same thing, if you dont declare anything, it will flash up, that your telling porkys. Big Brother is watching U. Can offer anyone on the site free advice, that might help u get off with a fine rather than points. Obviously drink driving is very hard, but there is the odd thing, Hope this helps a bit.
  14. Hi Colin, Try looking at http://www.247spares.co.uk, the site sources all breakers in the UK. Quite a few down south, but it asks for a few details, it will then email any breakers who have one. Stu

  16. Hello all, just joined the club, Love my 300zx fairaldy but she is ill. I need help big time, Exactly the same as Ronflat problems. Sorry pal, i am in same situation. Except my car was bought from a dealer only two weeks ago, and been full serviced or so they said, Very clean looking car in Charcoal grey, went to south of france, not zooming as area notorious for the french plod with cameras, that will issue a 900 euro fine on the spot or take the car as deposit. Had travelled about 400 mile's all gauges were good, no funny noises, Then totall power loss,, whenstopped the engine was glowing very hot, but the temp gauge read normal, water pouring out of expansion tank, stills turns, cam belt is good, but zero compression, no funny noises, does anyone have any advice?? ARe the heads / valves of safe design ie they have whacked the pistons.? If the head gasket has gone or both have gone this would cause no compression, or has anyone ever had block split. These engines are as strong as anything, but i really need advice or any help. Also the garage are stating thta it was sold as seen and offer no warranty, i have been talking to trading standards and they say i have a case againest them under the sale of goods act 1979. All motor trades selling cars are legally bound to offer a 3 month warranty, is this ture, help help Alll i want to do is get her back on the road. but the engine bay scares the crap out of me. any reply gratfully received.
