http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?128845-Ecu-diagnostics ive had no issues for the past 3 mots, with it on. but it may highlight why the sensor is shagged, O2 sensors dead, ecu temp switch etc. do a test and see what it throws up.

det sensor bypass with a 1megaohm resistor, should be on the ecu side/harness. to tell the ecu that the knock sensor is working. ive had mine in as long as ive had the car, never caused any issues. have you done an ecu fault code check?

go to one of those really cheap shops that sells everything. got myself a complete set of green gem 5 mini files for a £1. clean the spades of connectors with these, then spray with some ambersol (spray contact cleaner for electrical stuff) best £5 you will ever spend. plus should be part of a zed toolkit. stu

dan, i just measured mine. battery is 10" x 6.5", tray is 11.5" x 7.5". but i have a 70a battery. any good to you

cool thanks for the replys guys, Paul so am i reading it right, cars upto 95 as long as they pass a basic emmisions test, its good, but if it fails this test, then goes onto a non cat test. which it must pass. if it then fails this, your knackerd, until you get cats back on. I know it can pass the basic emmisions as it did last time, as it does not state on the database at what rpms it is limited too, rather than the fast idle test, basically the tester took it up to very high revs and held it there for 60 seconds, and passed no worries. ive been trawling vosa and mot regulations, can anyone shed any light on the matter. For 2012, for any vehicles that were made with a cat, it must be visible and working. cant find the answers to if your decatted, what age does vehicle have to be, some areas state after 92, some state after 95. deisels are not covered as its only a smoke test. anyone who is decatted had an mot in the past few weeks. ways around it. it its for a 94 tt. stu
