  1. On the plus side I did toast this m3 :)
  2. Here is the nippy little fecker - mate got a good piccy as it happens - just see my nose in the far lane - his 60ft time was 0.3 secs better than me looking at the slip & I never got it back, 13.8 v 14.1
  3. What time mate? I play footy Monday nights usually, can't really get out of tomorrow but if it's after 7:30 I could probably make it.
  4. Well I'm back from the Pod and I am pleased to report that I win this partcular bout. Raced said Cossie twice on Saturday and despite only running a 14.2 and 14.3, was victorious on both occasions due to him missing gears  To be fair, he had me off the line the second time until he engauged 5th instead of 3rd half way down. :) USC - excellent weekend, will post my times on the events section.
  5. Interesting thread - unfortunately I have to admit I have just been beaten by an MR2 T at the pod today. It launched a bit better than me, then stayed ahead by about the same amount until right before the line where I was just gaining. I think it ran a 13.6 something like that which in today's heat was pretty good. My particular run then was 13.9 I think. Fast motors, but if I wasn't suffering a lack of boost I would have beaten it I think.
  6. Mine are there for 2 reasons. 1. Don't like goose honk 2. Like the noise they make when you are attacking a welsh mountain road on and off the throttle. Plus the APEXi ones look really high quality so you can think about that when your driving along skint after paying £300 for them.
  7. Did you get yours sorted then Dave? I must admit a slackening of mine seems to have helped a bit but there is still a little bit of float on the idle speed before it settles.
  8. Cheers chaps, I have had a further look and it seems to be the join on the metal flange as shown in this pic. New rad I think
  9. Just noticed I have a leak just above the drivers side subframe mounting - water is pissing out a couple of drops per second at idle. What can I do? Looks like maybe a connection at the bottom of the rad? Can't get my hand i there - can I take the rad out? Supposed to be running at the Pod on Friday & Saturday I can't believe my luck :(
  10. Yes. My particular fav is 'Your mum's got a penis'
  11. Hello Could anyone e-mail me proof that i am a registered member of 300zx.co.uk to alex.cuthell@airbus.com. My insurance company requires this and I cannot think of a way to get it (unless someone has a suggestion?) Cheers Alex C
  12. Cheers Dave, interesting I will make some enquiries.
  13. I relaxed my spring tension a little last night and it seemed to help a little - I don't think they were at maximum though. Now you've mentioned it, you have jinxed my car as my idle was higher last night and reving the engine caused it to drop and struggle a bit before settling at 1200 rpm again. I am going to keep experimenting to see if I can rectifiy the problem so I will lat you know - if you find something that helps post it up!
  14. Hi Dave I have found that my idle is slightly higher than it was pre fitting, so was going to adjust this weekend, but we're talking maybe 200rpm here and still steady nothing like you have described on you're other thread. No stalling at all. I think my BOV's might need relaxing a bit, as the dump is a very short hiss and I can feel a tiny bit of surge back through the car when I'm on/off throttle. I will probably try this first before messing with the idle. I don't have any other mods - I take it you've gone around all connections including the bungs to make sure everything is tight? Other than that no suggestions mate, sorry!
  15. Forget this - just done a search - should do that more often.
  16. Think they do an NA V8 as well low 300ish bhp
  17. Update......now fitted the BOV's. You do have to move the cooler on a UK Z. Bit the bullet and undid the other bolts (after I sheared one off last weekend) and luckily they all came out fine. They are a VERY tight fit against the cooler pipework, but other than that well pleased, not too loud and no more honk :)
  18. Looks like it will, but believe me I tried every way i could (even broke some of the plastic fan surround on the air pipes) but couldn't.
  19. Tried all that mate, the top of my cooler sits a lot higher than the one shown, up to the middle of the fan. It will move forward a bit by undoing the top to bolts which bolt to another pipe (also not on Jap cars obviously) but not enough. I spent about an hour wiggling and it would not get past the pipes no matter what I tried.
  20. Borrowed this pic from SMW. OK - no chance of moving that then? Cooler is the only option then - F*ck it.
  21. Lymon - thanks for the offer, but it's not so much the fitting of the new ones, rather getting to the re-circs to get them off. All the bolts on the cooler look rusted to buggery, including those on the bracket. May have to bite the bullet and try unbolting them, then drill them out if they snap. :( The only other way I can think of as mentioned in another post is to try to move the rad back a bit towards the engine and see if it gives enough clearance for fan removal.
  22. Yes please Chris, pm'd you my address. Have some net soyrced guidance, but the official one would be good.
  23. Has anyone with a UK car installed APEXi BOV’s recently? If so, how did you access them? I have tried moving the fan out of the way but it will not go past the oil cooler and intake pipes. The fan has to move as there is no access to the far 12mm bolt holding the re-circ in place. I cannot move the oil cooler as the bolts have rusted solid and I have already sheared one off, can’t risk any more. If anyone has a decent method, please post it up!
  24. Cheers Jock I will try that.
