  1. Cheers for more good advice Mark. At the moment though it's the police who have not released my car, not the insurance guys stalling - they seem quite keen on getting in to inspect it so they can officially say it's a write-off, but every time I ask the police they still say not released. Rest assured I will make sure that they get their act togther once it is written off - I am obviously desperate to get mine back to salvage my engine & tubs, electronics etc.
  2. No mate, my car still isn't released - unfortunately the other guy has not regained conciousness (a month and a half on) as far as I know and is still touch & go. His injuries are far more serious than I was first told. I have been cleared of any wrong doind officially though so it just a time thing I think. :(
  3. That's wierd, looks a bit like mine only the passenger side. Hopefully there was no passenger and everyone was OK.
  4. Rumors spread very quickly about these things, but I reckon if it was SAS then we will find out the full story in about 30 years and not before. Nasty business out there at the moment, don't know how our guys put up with the constant bombings & pot shots etc so well without resorting to the american 'shoot anyone without a hamburger' policy.
  5. It's been nearly 7 weeks now since I lost my pride & joy and this weekend has been the worst so far with the weather has been cool, dry & sunny - ideal zedding conditions  On the plus side, I have been cleared by the police of any blame in the accident and the other guy is insured, so hopefully it should all speed up soon enough, but I will be evry suprised if it all goes smoothly.
  6. Good question - I would be interested in this as well if anyones done it.
  7. If I had 20K I'd consider a Skyline (R33 GTR), but I would love a Zed with that much spent on it as well. Below 15K I can't think of anything I prefer really.
  8. Black with streaks of yellow motorbike :x:

At least you can look at yours, I just have an empty space outside my flat :(
  10. What was different on the 'R' model?
  11. There are plenty of big projects coming along at Airbus mate so in all seriousness I think there will be lots of opportunity in the industry when you finish. Tip....get to know composite materials well. ;)

Nope, performance is similar if not slightly behind a standard Zed, I have had one try it on and he was nowhere near.
  13. Hmmm....might also be calling you then Ryan as I'm getting bad vibes from initail converstaions with my company.
  14. Feeling quite proud today as 'our' plane has been unveiled in Toulouse. Worked very hard on the wings for this here near Chester for the last 2 1/2 years and it's nice to see it in the flesh at last (although I did have a wonder inside one a few weeks before Xmas). It weighs 560 tons at take off! http://www.airbus.com/events/a380_reveal/event/index.asp One of the main items on most news channels if anyones interested!
  15. Hi Rosco Forgive me for Hi-jacking this one, but just wondering how you got on with Newera as I am considering asking them to look for a car for me. How long did you wait? What spec, budget etc did you give them? Just noticed your already subscribed - pm me if you can. Cheers Alex.
  16. I had the same smell of petrol on my car on startup, put up with it for a while but can highly recommend Smithy's fuel line kit as well.
  17. Cripes! Bad luck sorry to hear that. Try Andy Z or Dave C mate.
  18. Not much is happening at the mo as the police have not been in touch to say that my car is released fom them - this could be because the biker is in a bad way still I don't know for sure. An insurance investigator wants to speak to me for my account of the accident etc but I've been away over new year so nothing much else has been going on. I have another car to run about in though so not in a huge rush, but I really miss the car :(
  19. Few more, and before anyone else spots it yes I have been spoken to by the 'wheel police' :D Even with all this crap weather, I hate not seeing the Zed outside my window. I just hope it all gets resloved and I get a decent sum without losing my no claims. Hopefully there can't be too much argument with a bike overtaking on my side of the road.
  20. Well after Tesco almost f*cking up, I finally got my pictures. Excuse the poor quality, they were taken on a disposable. I was actually suprised at how good the car looked - when I got out obviously the door was hanging off and the wheel was sideways in the bulkhead. Somebody has pushed it back into position (sort of), the strut is still attached but all the other connections have been ripped off. Tried to get some pics of this but they have come out blurred. They have also put polythene across where the door glass was and the smashed part of the windscreen which is good as the interior is being kept dry etc. Not been released by the police yet AFAIK, so no offer or more info from the insurance guys as yet.
  21. Went to see my car today, was a bit of a shock seeing it again although it was not as bad as I remember as the slavage place has pushed the wheel back to roughly where it should be and bent the door back into position (sort of). There was also plastic sheeting covering the winscreen and drivers window so this also lessened the effect - was actaully pleased to see thay had done this as I was worried about mositure damaging the stereo, seta etc which I may yet try to slavage. Thankfully the place where it is being stored is very professional despite being in the middle of nowhere, full log of my personal effects, log of my visit etc. I am happier now as I was worried about some of the more 'select' items of my car going walkies. Got some pics which I am going to get on a CD so will try to post them up tomorrow.
  22. Track & drag stuff, not going to be road legal. It was all ready for it's debut at Avon park at the end of September, but weather put the dampers on the whole w/e so maybe April may time it will be out. It has been driven on some private dock roads though and as you said it was wheelspinning it's nuts off! My mate has built this in an attempt to beat my Zed (his Cossie couldn't), but you could now do that with a skateboard
  23. Same with me - I like reading the arguments at my own pace, most amusing. While your here Mark, here is what my mate had done with your old run-about (with a little assistance from me & a few others) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v475/LeeWhite/004_0A.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v475/LeeWhite/011_7A.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v475/LeeWhite/021_17A.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v475/LeeWhite/023_19A.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v475/LeeWhite/005_1A.jpg
