**urgent Plea To Chester Zed Owners**
Is there anyone who is around tomorrow that wouldn't mind letting me borrow their MAF for a short time to see if that is the cause of my Zed breaking down? Would be able to remove and re-fit wherever you are based - anyone that could help please pm me or e-mail me at alexcuthell@hotmail.com. Would need to be Sunday afternoon and would have it back by the evening. Cheers all. Alex

Just broken down.....
Been working on the car this afternoon (where I had to leave it across town) and have had no joy, initally it would just start and barely get to a 500rpm splutter before dying after 2 seconds, now it won't start at all. Have changed the PTU to a fixed S1, checked all electrical connections that I can see, disconnected and re-connected the battery, and wiggled all my coil pack connectors. Also put more fuel in but all had no effect. :( Now thinking it may either be the coolant temp sensor or the MAF. Could these be the cause??

Just broken down.....
No, fuel filter not touched, and the oil will have been dropped on a proper ramp (altough I then had the wheels balanced and they may have used a jack for that). Not sure that the work I've had done is the cause, as like I said it seemd to drive fine for 1 -1.5 miles before dying.

Just broken down.....
Picked my car up from having an oil change, drove for a mile or so, low rpm's 1st, 2nd gear. Then the car started to judder at higher rpms, so pulled off the main road but as I tried to continure the car spluttered to a halt with no power at any throttle openings and now has had to be left up a side street until I can go back tomorrow. It will still start for a second or so of very spluttery low idle, then dies. Could this be PTU symptoms? Also have to check the MAF (very cold and now splash guard, altough it isn't raining and it started fine to begin with), temp sensor and fuel (low but light wasn't on). Any other suggetions?

Feck it...headlights have stopped working
I have a switch in my dash that works some rear foglights on the car...recently this was accidentally re-wired so the light on the switch was on whenever the side or headlights were on. Just tried to get it back how it was by swapping the wires over, heard something go click and now the sidelights, headlights and rear lights have stopped working. Also, when the normal dipped beam is switched on, the full beams light up and don't go on or off with the stalk  The aftermarket foglight swith itself has 3 pins, one of which was going to eath, one taps into the stereo wiring loom, and the other goes to a black relay which itself has 4 wires coming from the bottom. One of these four is earthed not sure where the rest go but there is a 10A fuse in ine with one of these wires. Checked all fuses, all OK. Hopefully Safe & Sound can sort me out tomorrow or I'm not going to the Japshow :( Anyone else got any suggestions? Have I blown a relay.

Chunk Do you know if our display area is on the far (grandstand) side of the track or near (grass bank) side? Or no clue until you get there?

need input re: impreza
Last weekend my mate picked up a P1. I jumped in for a ride and he duely opened it up...it was fairly nippy and I was impressed it reved past 8K...then on next start up plumes of blue smoke emerged. Turns out it melted a piston which on further research is almost a 50:50 chance in any P1 due to MAF / detting problems. I couldn't belive that these 'road going rally weapons' are so fragile but it sounds really common. STi's I believe are better, but it has suprised me enough to be put off. Evo IV and onwards would be my preference all the way

AGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! Bring back the roadkill section
I tried the previous generation M5 (V8) and it absolutely destoryed me, but my zed was standard at the time. They are very quick once moving, a very genuine 400bhp with similar Ib/ft. New ones are 500bhp V10 IIRC.

BOV Fitting
Unfortunately mate, you have to move the cooler (you have a UK car obviously). Spray the bolts with lots of WD40 before hand and you should be able to unbolt the cooler from the bottom without disconnecting the pipes. You can then move it forward enough to get the fan out, then attack the re-circ bolts with a universal joint. I had the same problems!: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=35837

Fuel Protests
We should all make a stand and tell our respective employers that we can not afford to get to work. If everybody did this, within a few days the country would grind to a halt...but there are always going to be people who refuse to do this mostly because of the fear of what might happen. Personally I feel that petrol is unfortunately something essential for me to get about, therefore I am not going to spend money on other things like general (non-food) shopping, eating out, donations to charity etc. If everybody does the same the economy will take a big hit, but then they might lower interest rates so property market will then go up....never ending is it :smash: I think we've already crossed the line of reasonable sense and this country is on its way to a bit of a crisis. Government = :xxx:

HID's
Cheers chaps, and not that I'm hugely worried but do you get a lot of flashes from people coming the other way thinking your high beam is on? Or is the light pattern different enough for that to be OK?

HID's
After a less than illuminated drive home in the dark last night, I've decided that some HID's are required. 2 questions: 1. Are the HID bulbs for dipped headlights (and high beam remain the same)? 2. Where do I get them...is it still Outlander? Cheers all.
