Bit of a wash out on the Saturday, and lots of mechanical failures on the pro stuff on the Sunday, but still had a laugh as always!

Airbus cut jobs due to lack of materials...
Yep, I work in Broughton where the various wing builds take place. No real redundancies expected by us...we'd lose more than the quoted numbers in natural attrition over 4 years anyway, we just won't back fill. The industy is very cyclical, the market is huge over the next 20-30 years and we will get close to 50% of it as over rivals over the pond can't make them any faster than we can!

Bob @ Safe & sound made a custom one for me .... think he's still in the affiliated traders section. Or nearer you, you could ask B's in Lynn: B's Sound & Security Unit 23 Austin Fields, King's Lynn, PE30 1PH 01553 767 057

Smoke from under bonnet drivers side but not overheating?!? any ideas
Remember that the stock water temp gauge in the Zed is pants...a little leak won't show up by way of a higher temp until its too late - the needle then rockets into the red in a very short time and i've you're not lucky the effects can be permanent. I would check all your water hoses and the rad, including those little ones at the back of the block going to the heater matrix...these are on the drivers side.

Fitting ballasts for H.I.D lights.
I found the lack of length to the wiring a problem to mount in the nose, so I have tied mine into the engine bay behind either light. They seem very sturdy and I've had no problems at all. would take some pics but its absolutely pissing down!

my zeds dead in crash! pics to follow
Bad luck mate - been there and its gutting. Don't let them tell you you can't have the scrap of the car - it still belongs to you, the trick is to negotiate hard for the value you want + the car back. Get some clippings of similar Zeds from autotrader, make a list of your mods (hope you decalred any!) and attach a value to them and ask any garages / specialists on here to write a valuation for you if you've used them. Bombard them with evidence that yours is worth more than the £1500 that will be in the utter shite that is glasses guide etc and simply refuse to accept offers that they throw at you until you are happy. I had to go through all this just to get a half decent sum for my UK when it was wrecked but eventually they saw it my way :headvswal

Problems with e-mail account
Yes! Now back on after I could get no internet for a few days (since wednesday I think). Been using a new wireless modem for a few weeks and its been fine up until then, but popped the old modem back in today just to try and access came straight back, now swapped and everything seems OK again. Thought it was the modem, now not so sure...

Blitz R-Vit
Anyone with experience of these - my mate has just installed one in his P1 and reckons he can't get it out of Demo mode (manual is in Japanese I think!) Anybody know the procedure or has an english manual let me know! Cheerz

99.9 for V-Power !
Yes, the knock sensor on your Leon will allow the ECU to adjust the timing to suit the increased RON, hence you'll get a bit more response.

Any ZX Owners in North Wales/Chester/Wrexham/Wirral ?
I'm in Chester and someone actually mentioned the pinballers to me at USC yesterday....how closely associated are you with the "MNR" lot. Not trying to be stuck up or a saddo but some of the Sunday night antics are a bit OTT for me if you know what I mean. E-mail me at alexcuthell@hotmail.com if you want bud.

Big thanks to.....
AndyP, Steve-300ZX, FASTREDZED, bantambunny and stevemochan - all top guys :) Diagnosed a leaky radiator at about 1pm yesterday and all of these guys offered to come to my rescue by sending my a replacment straight away. Courtesy of Steve I now have a brand new one ready to go in. Despite all the recent bickering, the club spirit is still strong!

F*cking car...
Good news (sort of)....the rad had a hole in it and the pump looks completely dry, so a new rad should see me make it! :) :)

F*cking car...
Thanks chaps - I havn't got time to source all the bits I need to do the belt as well (plus it was only changed about 11k miles ago). Just need to get the pump out and order a new one ASAP tomorrow! I'm going to bite the bullet and start so will try to take care with water etc.

F*cking car...
4 Days before USC and my water pump has packed up I think  Unless I ask the local Nissan Dealership to do it for ££££'s I am up shit creak as I doubt any other place can take it and get it back to me by Thursday. I don't want to drive more than 2-3 miles anyway. Can the water pump be changed without removing the cambelt etc. I don't even have a crank pulley but could go and buy one now if the rest of the job was easy? What are the basics I need to change only the pump? Not a happy bunny at the moment :(
