Help With Radiator removal!!!!!!
Scubie - I'm really choked and thank you very, very much for your kind offer but there are much more deserving souls than me out there for you to spend your valuable time with. I am just suffering the momentory depression we all feel when things go wrong. I'm a lazy sod and just hate spending all that time trying to do a job I should be capable of doing but failing.....I'll get over it. Thanks mate. Znut - Thanks also for your advice and encouragement. I have some ramps buried somewhere in the garage, I'll dig them out and give it another go, maybe tomorrow. Having retired a few years ago I hate doing work unnecessarily, and to have a go at doing this job twice is going to take a bit of will power....but I'll do it! Thanks for your help, advice and support - Dave

Help With Radiator removal!!!!!!
Just got back indoors after a disastrous attempt at replacing my radiator on the drive :headvswal Almost got there but I was unable to jack the car up far enough for me to feel safe underneath and was unable to reach all the screws holding the undertrays. So I've just spent over three hours struggling and straining only to finish up putting the b****y leaking radiator back on.........I am not a chuffed bunny!!!! All I can do now is bring forward my 60k service and get them to put the new rad in when they take the old one out.....I am really pissed off!!!!! If only I had a pit or a carlift it would have been a doddle but, now it's standing on my drive pissing water. Actually, it doesn't leak very much so I am hoping to attend the two SC upcoming meets, Hackpen and IOW, by just topping it up from time to time. Wish me luck. Cheers - Dave

Anyone Near Leominster??
This was one of the 165's I owned...wish I hadn't sold it now! The other two cars in the picture were also mine. I still have the Mondeo Estate and I sold the Boxster when I bought my Zed.......never regretted that although the Porsche was a super 'poser' :)

Anyone Near Leominster??
I'm looking at a Celica on ebay and wondered if anyone in the Leominster area would be able to have a look at it for me and give an opinion. The auction finishes tomorrow! I'm not thinking of selling my Zed but I've always liked the 165 (I've owned three so far) and believe it will become a 'classic'. This one's a GT4 Turbo which I know little about as mine were standard GT's. Does anyone have any info/tips about the GT4 Turbo's? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230159331223 Cheers - Dave

GPS Speed? How accurate?!
That's the outside radius of the tyre, not just the wheel, so should make little or no difference in Jon's case.

Z Tech change of ownership
But maybe worth travelling for :) Welcome back Ztech - I'm sure that with the enthusiasm and dedication you exibited when I saw you on Tuesday you will soon shake off the negatives that have been talked about on this site. I wish both of you the best of luck and the patience of your customers whilst you rebuild your reputation. I look forward to dealing with you in the near future. Cheers - Dave

Non-amber side repeaters - legal?
That's what I, and many others, have got fitted as you can (just) see in my sig below, they only look orange when they flash but, as the bulbs are silver coloured you don't see any orange until then. HTH - Dave

Iow (chit chat thread)
I still can not be certain whether I will be coming or not, a lot will depend on the weather so I wont be making a final decision until nearer the date. Camping is not really my forte although I would give it a try if the weather is promising. I've got a two man tent and some basic gear that would see me through one night but I'm not really sure about it yet. If I don't camp I would probably come over for one day, but whether that is Saturday or Sunday would depend on the planned programme. Have you got a timetable in mind, Scotty? Cheers - Dave

Anyone know Ryan at ZTech?
Hi TiZer - Try phoning them using the number on their website. The new owners have only had this phone since Sunday so give them a chance. I also am disappointed Chris has not yet posted on this site. He told me yesterday he would do so last night!!!!! I will phone him tomorrow for the reason. If you read through this thread you will get more information that might be helpful to you and help you understand the current situation. Cheers - Dave

Insurance ringround for NA July 2007
Lynbrook have quoted me £339 (so much for hoping for 'less than £200')...Ah well, back to A-Plan.

There is the "change resistor" method which costs a few pence. I wont go into detail here as it's been covered many times on this site. Try searching this forum for 'resistor' I'm sure you'll find what you want. And don't be deterred by thinking it's difficult, if you can fit the convertor you can replace a resistor. Cheers - Dave

Radiator Leaking
I'm no expert but I think the auto version does have additional outlets for the g/box oil cooler (see legrath's post - No.11 on this thread). The TT version is also different to mine (see the same post). I suggest you give Advanced Radiators a call on 0191-267-3312, what have you got to lose? Good luck - Dave ps - BTW I don't get commission

Radiator Leaking
My radiator arrived today and it is exactly what I need. :smash: It's a real snip at only £77.72 including next day delivery and vat. It came from Advanced Radiators of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (http://www.adrad.co.uk) and I highly recommend them to others on this site who might require a new radiator. :) They didn't actually show this rad on their site so it might be best to phone them for a quote on 0191-267-3312. Cheers - Dave

Anyone know Ryan at ZTech?
Well, I've just got back from Ztech and have had a chat with Chris and Craig. I agree with others on this thread who have met them and say they appear to be good guys! :smash: They're having a really tough time trying to pick up the threads of the business from Ryan who is now switched off to the business and not giving much info to the new owners!!!! :( They only actually took over on Sunday but tell me they are ready and able to take on new work as it comes in. It shows they have put a lot of hours in the last couple of days if they are already able to take new bookings. SIXPENZ - I didn't see your car but was told it was at Craigs and they are waiting for quotes back from suppliers for your interior. GARYZ - Your car wasn't there either, I was told it was at the paint shop, so that's encouraging. SCUBIE - I asked Chris to phone you this afternoon. He has your number and said he would call you. IMPORTANT - THE TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR ZTECH IS STILL 07766 996946 AS SHOWN ON THEIR WEB SITE. I suggest you all three phone them NOW to find out the situation with your cars for yourselves, first hand. I am sure you will be satisfied with the status, particularly in view of the very difficult change of ownership that Ztech has gone through. Again, I am confident having spoken to the new owners that they will give the good service we used to get from Ztech a year or so ago. Chris has said he would put a post up on this thread tonight to briefly re-assure present and future customers that Ztech is now back on track and ready to give good service to it's customers. (By the way, I saw Chris's Zed and it's a machine to make your mouth water....800HP......yes 800!!!! I took some pictures to put up here but when I got home I realised my camera memory card was in my laptop and not in my camera....... :headvswal ) Please keep us updated on this thread over the next few days to let us know if your problems have been resolved...........I think they will be. Cheers - Dave

Anyone know Ryan at ZTech?
Look guys..I live in Swindon and would be pleased to pop over to Ztech today to check things out for you. If you let me have details...reg, colour, work being done, when car left with Ztech, any monies already paid......I will find out what I can, take some photos and post back here. If you can pm me, then include your real name and phone. I only used Ztech once, when Greg was still there, and they were a very helpful bunch of guys, I am/was planning to use them for my 60k service so I'm also interested in what their situation is. I will leave about 14.30 today so post before then. My mobile is 07711 696960. Cheers - Dave
