  17. I've only just learned how to include links on posts but I have a strange situation!! You are supposed to copy/paste the address but mine only shows the main address, which takes you to the 'home' page, NOT the full address which takes you to the specific page. The strange thing is, last night I had two windows open on this site and one showed the main address and the other showed the full address  How can I ensure I always have the full address showing? HELP..........Dave
  18. From you, maybe, but South West boundary is a lot closer than that. Maybe your Bristol or Somerset members might like to come along. They would be made very welcome :duffer: :D
  19. Why not join us in the SouthCentral? We are planning a meet at Hackpen Hill, between Broad Hinton and Marlborough....starting with a meal/chat/drink at the Crown Inn at Broad Hinton (SN4 9PA) and going on to a photoshoot at Hackpen Hill. We've got a thread running with some photos........why not have a look. Link to South Central Meet Cheers - Dave
  20. Hi Ste - Received the plugs today.....your a great m8 for getting them to me so quickly, and without charge. I am really grateful - cheers - Dave
  21. Are we not an independant club? I am always in favour of cooperating and collaborating with other clubs but OUR club needs a meet urgently to hold it's AGM etc. and it doesn't seem a very good idea to tie into another club's convenience, especially when they admit to dragging their feet (see previous post from Suzy). We seem to be getting tied to the ZClub's apron strings lately! Why don't we go ahead and arrange our own meet and let the ZClub tag along if they want to.
  22. It could be the person who started this email doesn't realise where the petrol comes from, regardless of the branding name. Also they don't seem to understand how much of the cost of petrol goes to the C of E................NO not the Church of England, I'm talking about the Chancellor of the Exchequer
  23. I received this email from one of my nieces this morning:- It benefits us all, please pass on. See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .. THREE HUNDRED MILLIONPEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso What do you think?
  24. BUM'ED - This is a post I've put on the SouthCentral forum today. (Next meet...) Are you interested???? Please post your reply here or on the SC thread. Anyway, I've been to look at the Crown Inn (SN4 9PA) in Broad Hinton and it seems very suitable The landlord is very friendly and would welcome us for a Saturday lunchtime meet, the pub is in traditional style and is roomy and the carpark is a good size. He would reserve a table for us if we have more than six expected. I told him there would likely be 6 to 10 cars and 9 to 15 people.......I'm sure he would be pleased to see more if we can muster more, but I think that's unlikely based on the attendance at previous meets at Hatchgate. By this post I also invite Bum'ed to come along and take some photos, as he's not a subscribed member I can't pm him so I hope he reads this. I've put a few photos below of the pub and Hackpen Hill so now it's up to you to put your names down and give a preferred Saturday date(s). I'll start the ball rolling by listing my preferred:- Z32dave - 28July/4August/11August/18August/25August . Attached Thumbnails
