  1. Oh dear........how different are they?
  2. Yep I know, but I think the ones I have bought were originally from the US and are 160mph. Do you think the potentiometer will allow me to adjust the reading so it is correct?
  3. Thanks M8 - Glenn advised using a heat gun to soften the glue but I don't have one so I'm planning to use the wife's hair dryer, so your divorce prophecy could still be correct :hyper: :hyper: (No, I haven't made a mistake, that is the correct smiley) Cheers - Dave
  4. I've today bought a 6ft florescent light diffuser (not the complete light) from a local electrical shop for £11.30. It has a diamond design which is almost identical to the rear lights on my Zed and will give me sufficient material to make four clear lenses should I decide to replace the red ones as well as the orange. Many thanks to everyone on this thread for their advice which I will put to good use when I do the conversion. I will post up some before and after photos when it's finished (knowing me, though, that might be some time  ) Cheers - Dave
  5. I am about to change my N/A Jap 180 kph clock cluster for a TT UK 160mph clock cluster. I have a couple of questions:- 1) I don't mind the turbo psi dial being there below the speedo, I just wont be using it (obviously), but are there any other problems with exchanging N/A Jap clocks for TT UK clocks? 2) I am expecting the speedo to work to 180mph although the actual dial is only 160mph. Should I be able to correct this by means of the pot? Cheers - Dave
  6. Would that affect both the odometer AND the tripmeter?
  7. My odometer and tripmeter have suddenly decided to stop working! I've had a quick look but can't see anything obvious (in fact I can't see anything at all 'cos it's all out of sight lol) Has anyone any idea what might be causing this? BTW my fuel gauge has never worked since I bought the Zed.....could the two problems be connected? Cheers - Dave
  8. £180 for 12 months, £99 for six months.

And how much is entry? Is there any reduction for going Sat+Sun? It is a crap web site!
  10. Your map is almost correct, it just needs the addition of Berkshire.
  11. Yeah......Well maybe I'll think about what you've said about 'health checks' but I also need to think about the £30/£40. How long do I have to make my mind up? So far as organising a meet myself, I would not wish to tread on the toes of our official regional organiser, Mental Tony, there's enough disharmony around the club at the moment and I am certainly not going to add to it, especially in my own region. I am hoping he will be organising something soon although there's not much sign of it yet. Perhaps we should watch this space and hope. Also, I find that travelling to meets is part of the enjoyment and I don't know the South coast well enough to identify a good location for food, parking and photography.
  12. Hi, and thanks for your input. But I read on this site about lots of problems people have with Zeds and, as mine is running as sweet as a nut, I don't feel inclined to go looking for trouble. My approach is "if it isn't broke don't mend it"
  13. Looking at previous threads I thought the IOW trip was planned for 1st/2nd September..........is no-one arranging this? I enjoy the pub+chat+meal+photoshoot Type of meet best. Both the Hatchgate meets have suited me very well. I also love the sea so what about a coastal meet somewhere with some good backdrops for a photoshoot.....any suggestions?
  14. Yeah......I've seen this being arranged but it's not really my scene. I'm not really interested in the power of my Zed, so long as it gives me what I need on the road (which it does) then I'm happy. :D If I wanted power I would have bought a TT!
  15. And what is your site name here again...................lol
  16. Hi Jay - I'm already using chrome bulbs at the front and sides and plan to use the same when I fit the clear rear lenses. I agree you need to get rid of the orange tint which can be seen through clear lenses. Cheers - Dave
  17. I've got a similar problem so look forward to the answer. Cheers - Dave
  18. It's all gone a bit quiet on the SouthCentral front! When are we having our next meet? It is summer you know, the time to get out and give our Zed's an airing. Is our REO, Mental Tony arranging anything? The next meet I am aware of is IOW 1/2 September but we could get another two or three in before then, can't we? Cheers - Dave
  19. Wow Glen, They're really smart  What bulbs are you using for the red and orange and what did you use for the clear lense? I notice you also kept the top red lense, was there any reason for that?
  20. Sorry znut, I did not intend to upset you lol :slap: , I just thought there might have been a technical/legal reason why yours were still red.
  21. Hi FunkySi - I see your sig shows red rear repeaters....just to let you know one of our members is getting me a pair of clear ones, with light in them, from the States in a few weeks. If you're interested I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers - Dave EDIT:- SORRY FUNKISI, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED TO ZNUT.
  22. Thanks, I'll have a shop around and see what I can find. I notice your red rears are still red! Is there any reason why you haven't also changed them to clear as that is what I plan to do.
  23. .......where I can get some clear/reflective perspex-type material that would be suitable for replacing the coloured red and orange perspex on the rear lights and indicators. I want to remove as much colour as I can from my Zed and this is the next step. I will probably use led's to replace the bulbs as they seem to be plentiful and cheap on ebay. If anyone has carried out such a conversion already, any tips and information would be very welcome. Cheers - Dave
  24. I can see you're looking after her, it's looking even more shiny than mine lol.
  25. What a beautifully timed thread......I've just bought some high temperature aluminium paint to do my calipers and I've found this thread really helpful. I realise from this thread that foliatec is most likely the best solution but, being the cheapskate that I am, I am trying to get away with a cheaper solution (not always the best idea I know). Will the high temperature paint survive the caliper heat OK and will all my efforts be rewarded or will it look a pig's ear? Advice is sought from them that know! Cheers - Dave
