  1. And don't forget the Z was designed in 1989 too. That's 21 years old now. Pretty good considering :) Compare it to what Merc was making back then :)
  2. This is where the starter motor is. I'm sure you have a starter problem
  3. Does your car have a turbo timer ? Has the starter stayed in mesh flattening the battery ?
  4. That's a generic item. Without reading the contents of it with software or a burner, you will never know what it is.
  5. If the sensors are under the car, they could be the cat overheat ones
  6. If it's a manual, push the clutch in. Does it go away?
  7. Is it from above your head? There is a small fan up by the map lights that makes a few faint noises as it wears out
  8. http://i708.photobucket.com/albums/ww89/nzniggles/Tempgauge.gif
  9. It's not that its unrealiable, just useless. A middle needle position indicates something like 60 to 110 degrees. By the time it starts moving up, you're pretty well stuffed
  10. The steering wheel design usually give it away.
  11. If the cooling system is in good condition and still under pressure, temps just over 100 deg Celcius are OK. Would go much higher though.
  12. Check the voltage at the solenoid. Should be around 6 volts at a standstill
  13. Check the connections on the solenoid on the steering rack
  14. Have a look in the photos in this post. You can see the leak tester on the intake http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=129024&highlight=leak+tester
  15. Check carefully for boost leaks
  16. Were the wheels torqued up or rattled guned?
  17. You can't brake harder than what the tyre will stick to the road. As soon as you break grip, you've lost brake efficiency. Plan and simple
  18. Are you going for economy or speed ?
  19. 8.8 and 12.9 refers to the tensile strength of the bolt. 12.9 being stronger of course
  20. That's what I thought so machined mine out of a single piece of high tensile plate
  21. Duh! Tools underneath suggest it's near the back of the car. Could be something to do with the aerial or bulb fail sensing at a guess
  22. It's not the Hicas controller. That is bigger and down in the passengers footwell. Where is this ?
