  1. has your shorty gone then?
  2. well sorry for the lack of an update all ive been doing really is sorting out the wiring loom and cleaning up a load of brackets. the wiring loom has taken quite a while as i dont want any wires in the bay. i have replaced all the conectors to the side lights etc as they were all hacked about, removed the hicas connections, moved the gearbox connections, hardwired in the hid connector, moved the fuse box down to the chassis rail under the nose pannel and relocated the pas pot connection. most of the wires are now bound up again and looks like new. ive also repainted most of the intercooler pipes and had all the rubber mounting washers replated etc. going to replace the intercoolers at some point but std will do for now. also bought loads more stainless bolts to get things mounted, i will not be using any mild steel unless they are structural. also got some fancy countersunk washers for the wings etc. also rebilt the wiper mechanism with replated crank arms. got no photos at the moment but ill update tomorrow. also ordered a set of carmads new swb skirts so i hope to trial fit these over the weekend.
  3. well the mrs has an audi a3 1.8t and i have a bora (v6 4 motion) the audi is a fantastic car and good on the petrol 40mpg on a run, the bora has more space but uses a fair bit more fuel -32mpg on a run both are built very well and apart from a few lights that have come on on the bora both are great (around 130k each) the bora you showed has the 5 cylinder engine and only returns similar mpg to the v6 with less power. i would have the audi, but not a modified one lexus looks nice but high mileage
  4. Well the oil needs to be over a curtain temp to work as designed, just about 90 or so. Once it starter to get over around 120 it will start to brake down. I would have thought you shoud see between 90 and 100 under normal driving.
  5. use the n/a front loom, the tt engine loom and the manual box loom and everything should be ok for wiring
  6. i would say that everything bar the pistons would be up to it, most people would replace the rods at this stage anyway as its not worth the risk
  7. wrong flywheel bolts or spacer plate missing
  8. sounds like a loose cas plug or even a loose battery terminal (had both before)
  9. seen that build before but the back of the white one looks a little too like a ladys part
  10. i think you guys need to get a room and sort out your issues, but i digress. im intrigued to see where you are going with the relocation idea. im going to try to get mine under the headlight panel tomorrow. not sure about the rear spoiler, i really like the smooth look on the vert. Ps daz dont go filling etc unless you really mean it, you start one bit then need to do the next, it spirals out of control and you end up with a completely stripped car and a full restoration in front of you. good work though
  11. sounds like failing tension rods but you have adjustables, i would check there first though
  12. any pics of the fuse box mate and which wires to cut, not quite got there myself yet, just trial fitting the loom at the moment
  13. im just in the middle of doing this myself mate, if you can wait a few days im sure i will have it figured
  14. sounds like a bad earth feeding back through your reverse lights perhaps
  15. i need a name for mine, anyone got any ideas?
  16. that looks really good mate, im not a fan of the blended look generally on the zed but with those skirts to add a bit of form back it looks superb. i would be tempted to keep it white. what skirts are they btw
  17. yep, just to clarify there are 4 types of rear prop, n/a and tt in either lwb or swb 2 types of front prop (i think) manual or auto, all should interchange so you would use the front prop from the manual lwb and the back from your tt swb
  18. ill swap my shiny suspension for your v8 any day. still tempted to put one in mine. thanks for the comments guys
  19. i think the exedy kit for around £200 is supposed to be good for basic mods
  20. no car beats it for looks and performance for the money, better looking than a supra, more involved drive than a 3000gt, more poke and less of a chav badge than a evo/imprezza. dont cost as much as a most high performance cars mostly about the looks for me though
  21. finally started on the coilovers too, this is how they started. typical tein they rust like hell. you can see the paint i found which is just about a perfect match for tein green here are the springs after shot blasting and some satin 2k enamal and here is a shock body after a good wire brushing hope you enjoy, going to try to paint a shock tonight
  22. here are a few more recent pics drivers side suspension loosely assembled to get it back on the ground soon the front hubs still need to come apart so i can shot blast them and repaint the splash guards and bearing units. brake hose and clips etc have all been cleaned up though. will be a shame to drive it Front tow hook with new bolts strut tops cleaned up. im modifying the pillow ball mounts to take screws instead of the studs for a cleaner look, they will sit in countersunk washers. oil cooler cleaned up, took me ages to straighten all the fins repainted the passanger scuttle but not to happy with it, i have a bit of a run and its a bit too glossy front cross member installed, still need to tart up a few of the pipes but wanted to get the layout correct. Had all the clips and brackets replated, they have come up quite nice
