  1. I then ran into a problem as I had not ordered a set of new studs and the old ones would not come out without breaking. Nissan use high temp studs (inconel I think) and using standard grade fasteners is a sure way of having to take the engine back out again to replace blown gaskets. In the mean time I got on with a gearbox external overhaul. New switches Later spec 350z clutch arm and pivot ball along with a new clutch release bearing and carrier. I also fabricated a new gear leaver support that directly mounts to the box (similar to the bde item). I didn't get any photos of this though. I also added some phosphor bronze sifter bearings, however I was a little surprised to see that the pivot on the bolt which is very bad practice. I managed to bore them out on the lathe to use the original sleeve. I also rebuilt the shifter pivot ball with a czp kit and adjusted the pivot point to give a slightly reduced travel while still retaining the stock shifter. New selector arm Also managed to update my recircs with some bde goose honk killers
  2. First up, this is the collection of new parts I have been building up over the last few months The biggest job was to sort out what I suspected to be a smokey turbo, soon confirmed with the downpipe removed. First things first, pull the engine, which I didn't find too bad with all the simplifications I have done. Turbos stripped off New manifolds ready to go on And a comparison between the stock auto turbo and a brand new gt2560 (czp gt600)
  3. As some of you may know I've been back at home for a few weeks to get some work done on the 300. I thought I would share some pics and info on my progress
  4. Not going to make this one :-( Logistically just can't make it
  5. How much for the hicas rack, do you have the ecu as well?
  6. Hmmm, I suspect you will be quite slow at that... After looking at lots of pics, I'm leaning towards plain silver with no diamond cut, clean and simple.
  7. Don't worry, they are not going to be painted black. Although there is a nice set in orange on eBay at the moment:no: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LM-GT4-Nismo-Rays-Alloys-Wheels-17-R32-R33-R34-GTT-GTR-Rota-TE37-Drift-5x114-RS-/182638964680?hash=item2a86216fc8:g:UKkAAOSwfpVZGbkB
  8. My wheels need a tidy up and at the moment I'm thinking of going for a recreation of the original finish. As standard the have a diamond cut lip and centre with plain silver spokes. I imagine that this is going to cost quite a bit and may not last that long. There is a specialist nearby that can do this though. Other options- Plain silver Slightly darker silver Other options considered but not for me I think Matt bronze Gloss black Any thoughts/ ideas?
  9. I was trying to find the part number for these for the swb, I retrimmed my existing ones but the card has been soggy at some point. Are the same company as Nissangenuineparts.co.uk? I've used them quite a bit recently and I have been happy with the service.
  10. Looking great si! Couple of questions for you, what are you doing for the swage line pinstripe. I found a good colour match but it all started to lift shortly after (eBay of course). Also, do you have the original vapour barrier in the doors, I'm thinking of going with a sound deadening sheet as new vapour barriers are nla and mine are quite shabby.
  11. Also just picked this lot up in Tokyo. Just need to fit them in my suitcase
  12. Not too bad if you are handy with a drill and a welder. Won't do the value of the car any good though.
  13. I'm after a pair of front belts as I have new door cards and don't want to cut them up and the door mounted belts annoy me. They must be b pillar mounted, so either s2 or uk model. E.g. Not door mounted. Cash waiting.
  14. Sure thing, ideally I would like to sell them complete with the test pipes though. I'll send you a message nearer the time, I should be able to bring the along to protuner
  15. See you in July Interesting news about the nistune. When I spoke to Greg the quote included a nistune. That was a few months ago so maybe things have changed. Joley- when are you in for a remap? And what mods will you be running?
  16. Nice, how much was the kit?
  17. I'm sure in reality they will be fine. They seem to be very similar to the japspeed items that many people over here run including me. Mine will actually be up for sale in a bit once the new turbos go on.
  18. Ah, new targa hook. I fitted one last year and I was amazed at how nice the finish on it was. Shame to fit it to the car really. I too have a new set of weather strips ready to go. It's bits like them that will really make the car feel like new. I have to say, I couldn't stomach shelling out that much for the rear screen tailgate trim (if it's the one I'm thinking of) luckily mine was in great shape. I just checked out czp and the headlight gaskets are showing as going out of stock, one more thing for the list I guess
  19. Love it. I find the final reassembly with new/refurbed parts and new fasteners so satisfying. Did the new headlights come with new rubber surrounds?
  20. In my experience a decent enough job can be done on the driveway/ garage with the right equipment and 2k. However I wouldnt really advise it as it is a lot of hassle and hard work. I painted my car myself and I think most would say it's quite a good job. However this took a huge amount of research and preparation to get things anywhere near right. It's also not quite up to the level I would like. As an example, I was able to get a good finish after wet sanding and polishing. A few things also to concider- I chose a solid white colour for most of the car- this is very forgiving. As a final note- now that I have the funds to allow, I will no doubt be looking at a high quality full respray some time in the near future.
  21. I found this on mine as well, the excess can be tucked away but does make things a little messy. Are you getting a remap?
  22. The O2 reading is likely a symptom of the misfire not a cause. I guess you have already checked the plugs etc already?
  23. Well, I wanted a new set of door cards and there is no way I'd pay what the remaining few sets are going for ( around 1000usd each) as my seats are trimmed in charcoal alcantara I'd need to retrim any I could get. Unfortunately needs must, but at least my car will look better.
  24. There are still a few bits I would really like but they are all discontinued- if anyone knows of any please let me know The car is a 2 seater btw These are the bits I can't find Outer b pillar covers- the rubber bits on mine are a little torn Upper door cards with no seat belt holes ( series 2) Steering cowl
