Red, TT, Manual -£7k-8k budget
I’m looking for a red, manual, twin turbo if anyone is selling. Don’t mind a project or something that’s been sat for a while. I sold my old one last year and regretted it and want to get another one, but this time a red one. This will be a keep that I’ll build over time so happy to look at projects etc etc. Don’t mind if it’s UK or JDM. If you have anything that fits the bill, or maybe know someone who’s thinking of selling up, please get in touch.

Well I might have the itch again!
Now that’s the question! Budget is probably a project if I’m honest, I could wait a bit and save some more cash. I guess I’m hoping there’s a bargain out there somewhere if I look hard enough! I think I’ll aim for MOT’d, running and driving but in need of TLC

Well I might have the itch again!
Genuinely, I’ve bought an sold a lot of cars, always been sad to see them go but I’ve never been bitten by one till now. I think part of it is there is no car out there that is so good looking, so rare, so powerful and great to drive, and so cheap (to buy, not run and maintain!!!!)

Well I might have the itch again!
I sold my old black 300zx last summer aaaaaaaaaand the itch has never left! I think I need to get back in to a new Zed! Gotta be manual, TT but red this time. I feel like this time I wanna modify it more. Make it what I wanted my black one to be! How’s the market at the moment?

What did you do to your zed today?
Completed a 287 mile trip over the weekend. Went to Goodwood Festival of Speed on Wednesday and camped for a few nights, car got quite a bit of attention in the campsite! Then drove from there to Rendcomb, Cotswolds on Friday night, lovely sunny drive, and spent the weekend with my family for my dad’s 70th before driving home to Tring. Car didn’t miss a beat!

FOR-SALE - 1993 JDM Twin Turbo Manual (Factory) LWB
View Advert 1993 JDM Twin Turbo Manual (Factory) LWB For Sale 1993 Nissan 300zx JDM, Factory Twin Turbo and Manual car in black. £14,500ono 18” Genuine Work Emotion GT5’s with Michelin PS5 tyres Brembo front calipers MeisterR GT1 fully adjustable coilovers Mongoose cat-back exhaust Mishimoto radiator and silicone hose set ‘Twinz Design’ Type 3 Rear Wing (imported from US) ’99 Spec Rear Lights Apple CarPlay double din stereo with ZSpec fascia and cup holder replacing the ash tray Upgraded fuel rail and RB25 injectors (to replace the unreliable S1 injectors) 3 keys Spec Electric front Seats Electric folding mirrors Electric Windows Power aerial (still works!) Climate Control (Air Con not working) I have been writing about my car on the Forum since I got it, feel free to have a look at this for loads of info. Imported in 2005, this car has covered 98,000 miles. I bought the car in March 2022 and it has been well loved and cared for by me. I don’t know much of the history of the car before I owned it as it didn’t come with any. I was told it had covered 70,000km before the clocks were converted to run in MPH, so about 28,000 of the distance is miles but I have no proof of this. In the last 4 years this car’s been through a refresh. This started with a respray 3-4 years ago where all the sills and arches were cut out and replaced with fresh metal and was resprayed in a metallic black (I have pictures of the work being completed). Since I bought the car in 2022, it has been garaged and only used in summer (apart from the odd trip to the garage for some work). First thing I did was have a 60k service (Cam belt, engine oil and filter, gearbox oil, diff oil, HGK Iridium spark plugs, fuel filter) by Jimmer at PowerZed at 95,000 miles. Other work he carried out at the time was a new rear main seal on gearbox and some other small bits. Since then I have had other work completed on it by Nispro, a local Nissan specialist. The notoriously unreliable early series injectors were replaced with those from an RB25 using a fuel rail modifier kit from CZP in US. The water lines in the plenum were also deleted to make working on the engine easier. A new alternator was also fitted with a full set of Mishimoto silicone radiator hoses and the Hicas outer ends were replaced. I have also changed the PTU to a series 2 unit for reliability. In November 2023, all 4 wheel bearings were replaced, it had a new brake master cylinder and the diff oil was changed and then in Feb 2024 it had a replacement master and slave cylinder and clutch fluid, new prop shaft centre bearing and some new fuel lines at the rear. I changed the engine oil and filter in April 2024 using Shell Helix 10w-40 oil. It has been undercoated at some point in its life, but I have put two treatments of Lanoguard on the underside to prevent any rust development this winter (October 2023 and March 2024). The interior is very good, it still has the original ‘shag-pile’ carpet mats in the front with the ‘Fairlady-Z’ metal plate attached, and I have installed a double din fascia and 3D printed cup holder. There is a ciggy hole in the drivers seat and the drivers door trim (where the handle is) has a broken clip on the inside but easy enough to replace with a spare. I have also had a new genuine Nissan speed sensor fitted. Bad bits Air Con doesn’t work. Not sure why, I’ve not looked in to it as it’s never bothered me. Underside has some surface rust, as with almost all 30 year old JDM cars, but it’s really not bad and has been treated now with Lanoguard so shouldn’t progress anyway. Occasional rattle from underside at 1500rpm. I believe this is a loose heat shield, this was the advice from the garage after I asked them to look in to it and they couldn’t find an issue. I have used the cars for weekends away with my wife and also have taken it to a number of car shows, including having it on the 300zx Owners Club stand at the 2022 Classic Car Show at the Birmingham NEC. I have been a member of the 300ZX Owners Club since I bought this car and have documented my ownership of it in a blog if you want to find out any more. It’s a brilliant and genuine car. Really fast, sounds great, runs great and gets lots of attention. Offered by: RobHowl Date 24/06/24 Price £14,500.00 Category Cars - For Sale

AGM 2024
Have a favour to ask for Sunday. Does anyone have a working set of series 2 clocks for a JDM they would be willing to let me test on my car? Im really struggling to find out what the problem is and the best thing I can do right now is put in a set of clocks that I know 100% work so I can see if it’s my clocks or the signal. I’ll bring my tools anyway, I’ve become quite proficient at swapping them out these days! Thanks if possible, if not, no worries!

NEED URGENT ADVICE!
I’ve removed the converter and that did work, I swapped the Speedo from the set I’d just bought to my set but that hasn’t worked either. anyone going to AGM who knows about this stuff and can help me figure it out?

NEED URGENT ADVICE!
My speedo in my 1993 has been playing up, just the Speedo part, everything else is fine. I’ve bought a replacement set of clocks that I thought were the same (Series 1) but the back is different. I just need to replace the Speedo part, can I remove just that section and drop it in to the existing clocks? First photo are my clocks, the backing is blue but the new ones I bought are green. im trying to attend the AGM on Sunday and need to get it sorted ASAP!

1993 TT LWB in Black
So the Odometer is not registering miles currently and there is no signal from the speedos to the ECU either. i had someone go over the solders but that hasn’t helped. What options does that leave? im currently looking at buying another set as I’m running out of ideas!

1993 TT LWB in Black
Gave the underside some love today while it’s in the air. Removed some of the old under seal that was peeling, rubbed back some of the surface rust and then covered the under side in its second treatment of Lanoguard in 6 months

Speedo issue
So the speed sensor seems to be working fine. Got it out, stuck it on a multimeter and drill and got a reading from it. I thought I had correctly tested the dashboard but I’m no expert with a multimeter to so quite plausible I messed that up. It has one of the converters in there too. Is it easy to fully remove the clocks? I had them out of the mount but still connected when I was testing them last week

To be fair I didn’t look at the odometer, but everything else worked, rev counter, boost gauge, temp sensor

Thanks for the heads up on that. I’ll take a look but I didn’t have an intermittent fault though, the speedo just died on me and hasn’t worked since. I’ll make sure that I seal it up before it goes back in the car!

Well that didn’t go to plan! After much messing about, I got the speed sensor out and checked it by putting it in a drill and spinning it (many thanks to Dan (Toomanyzeds) for all his advice and help!!) and the bloody thing works! which is good news as it’s expensive to replace but bad news as I thought it was the problem and now I’m back to the beginning again! I can only assume I ballsed up the test on the speedo. I don’t really know who to use an multimeter properly so probably a mistake there. Either that or the cables got a break in it somewhere! I’ll start at the speedo again.

Turns out it works just fine!! 😂 After all that faff! Good news I suppose as it’s expensive……
