  1. Got the car back today, I’m very happy, my wife and credit card are not! 😂 It’s had a lot of work done, the mechanic faced a few hiccups along the way but ultimately the new injectors are in and the engine is running really smooth and idling nicely. When taking the old ones out, he found the connectors were very corroded and one was really brittle and started to fall apart as he removed it! The new injectors were mounted in the fuel rail and pressure tested and had no leaks so the kit I bought was a good one. The coolant delete has been done and there are new Mishimoto air and water hoses, and a few new fuel lines as well replacing some of the brittle old ones. The alternator is also charging the battery again! While replacing the Hicas ball joints and setting the car up he went to adjust one of the tie rod ends (I’m probably wrong with this component but picture shows what I mean!) and he found that the thread had previously snapped off and where as there is normally an inch or so of adjustment, he had about 2 threads!!! Bit of a close call there. I’m very happy with how it ran on the drive home and hopefully now, although it’s cost a fortune, it should be set for many more years of running. The only downside is he said he might or want to work on the VG30’s anymore as it was such a pain! Next thing to do is install the new double din fascia I’ve bought and when the weathers warmer and drier I’m planning on taking the front seats out and giving them a full on wet vax and soapy clean!
  2. What’s the build spec mate?
  3. Hi Pam, welcome to the club and good luck with the car. What is your plan with it? Are you going for a full restoration or making any changes?
  4. Yes I got mine straight away, I did have an issue paying by card where I just got the wheel of doom so tried again with PayPal and it worked fine
  5. I’ve paid for my entry as part of the OC
  6. Yeah could have been much worse! New injectors are in and it’s being put back together. The second hand plenum cleaned up way better than I imagined it would. It looks shinier in the photo to be fair than in real life but happy with that.
  7. Compressions test results all good. All cylinders up around 140-150 so happy days there! The intake hoses however were all pressing and brittle, fortunately I had a set of Mishimoto ones in the garage that I was going to fit when it was back anyway! The pipes are 30 years old this year so probably not going to be the last that’ll need replacing.
  8. Yeah that looks really good
  9. It feels like it’s been forever since I last drove the car! Well it’s now with Nispro in Haddenham. Walton (owner) is a Nissan expert, more with the RB and SR engines, but he seems to know his onions and with Jimmer being so far away I thought give them a try. Its currently in for a new alternator and HICAS joints and then an alignment but the main thing will be pulling the plenum and installing an injector kit to allow the later style injectors to be mounted on the earlier fuel rail. I also bought a second hand plenum off Banzai Breakers to replace the one with the stripped threads. I bought the kit from CZP and ordered all the gaskets. At the same time, Walton is going to do the coolant delete as well. I hope this solves the problem (it’s cost a few quid already) but if it doesn’t then I think the loom must be knackered!
  10. Hi mate, how do you mean questionable? As in rusty or rubber seals perishing? To do photos, if you click ‘add files’ underneath this box it’ll give you the option to add photos
  11. Hi Scratch, welcome to the club mate, what’s the spec of your car and I think we need to see some photos!!!
  12. Agreed with the above, I drive mine every day I can if the weathers going to be dry (and I don’t have my 3 kids to cart about!)
  13. Hi Squiggly, welcome to the club mate!
  14. Children Hills Rally - 21st May its just north of Aylesbury, Bucks. I did a post on it a while back, I went last year and it was great. I emailed them and thought we could do a club stand? If not I’ll be there with my Zed anyway!
  15. Tom, how would you like potential events shared with you, would it be better by PM or by posting on this thread?
  16. Happy birthday Rich!!
  17. Happy Birthday Jimmer!
  18. Yeah I’ve gotta say I’m a big fan of all this, international mods would be a great idea. Building up a big network of people will be really helpful for parts and advice and help bring new people to the cars. The competition is cool as well, although I don’t have any high quality photos of my car!
  19. Thanks mate, I ordered them all except for the IACV!! Bugger
  20. Hi All, Another one for the calendar! This is an annual car meet up local to me, its just north of Aylesbury, Bucks. I went in 2022 and it was really good! Loads of cars of all different types and backgrounds and loads of other things to do! I was wondering if the club would be interested in entering a 300zx OC stand and getting a load of cars together? Could be a great chance to advertise the club and the cars! Either way, I will be entering my Zed for the show so the more the merrier! Thoughts?
  21. I am removing my plenum and swapping it our with a replacement one. Obviously I need the plenum gasket, and balance bar O rings but what other gaskets and other bits will I need? I assume the throttle bodies have gaskets? Are there any others for any of the other bits going on?
  22. Thanks mate, I’m not really considering pushing for a power increase, even if I did it wouldn’t be by much. I’ve got a dodgy injector and just want to upgrade them to the series 2 ones for better reliability really while the plenum is off. So I can use an adapter kit on the existing rail for the new injectors and then connector adapters too? I would like to fit a new loom but it’s expensive so just getting it back on the road at the moment.
  23. As the cars going to be having a new plenum, and I think has an injector fault, I’ve been thinking about upgrading the injectors to the series 2 ones for reliability. I know I need a new fuel rail to accommodate these, has anyone done this recently? are my only options the ones from USA or are there any in the UK? Does anyone have one kicking around that they’d sell? thanks
  24. A few more photos for me (Including my Legacy!) and my favourite was the Evo Pajero towing an Evo 6 TME!!
