  1. I cant say ive ever had a faulty nissan head gasket. It will be an error with the heads or the mating of the heads with the block. The turbo cracks Mr Bean mentioned will be in the wastgate/exducer housing which is seperate from the chra so no oil/water will mix because of that.I dont quite see how a new gasket is going to cure it.If the gasket was allowing fluids to mix then it should be visible. If not its back to the drawing board.
  2. OOPS,Stand corrected then :slap:
  3. Think youll find it was if you ask Pete.
  4. Is this the legendary place that told zogg he had over 400hp and the same in torque and that he must have aftermarket turbos and injectors even tho they were standard .
  5. The vtc hubs dont hold out well at high rpm.The internal helix that swings the timing isnt strong enough to hold its position so most people wanting serious power bin it or run BDE sprockets.
  6. Unless your chasing really big power and a high revving engine that needs a bullet proof top end then you should keep it.
  7. The pedal will be spongey with new pads on old discs,Opening the nipples when pushing the pistons back is a good idea as some four pot calipers can flip the seals in the master with the volume of fluid being returned. It should not make a difference that you didnt clamp the lines off unless the fluid ran for ages and let the resovoir run dry.Does it have any pedal whatsoever? Normally when bedding in pads the pedal height wil be low at first till they settle and the biting point will rise.
  8. Put your viscous back on mate.problem solved i bet.
  9. If you did it yourself you would part with around £750 ish parts then another few hundred for honing, head skimming and valve work. The set up should see you around the 400-450hp mark i should imagine depending on mapping and boost run.
  10. Fook me Funk miester, when i seen the missed call at half eight this morn i thought you were still stateside and didnt want to call back and get stung, not being a tight wad but had i known you were in blighty again id have returned the call.good to have you back bud :)
  11. Yeh i dont remember you being to happy with the re con turbo fitment bud.Well one was recon ish anyway .
  12. Once youve stripped the pipes off the nearside and taken the battery out for access to the bulkhead joins and lines on the inner wing.Shouldnt be a problem Mike.I reckon youll need to hacksaw the bulkhead pipes off though as the unions are aluminium and will round off.
  13. When you refit the pump, leave the "b*****d bolt" out.You know the one.Its belt n braces anyway.Must a/c pumps are held by 3 bolts.Nissan went for the over engineered option.Youll need conversion adaptors so you can re gas it with 134a.
  14. OOOPS!! To late, another tip is before you refit the engine,on the bracket that holds the power steering pump, file down the bush slightly that mates up against the pump.will save you time fighting to get the pump back on and getting the bolt to mate up in the threaded lug at the rear. You seriously junking the air con,Id leave it personaly,You wont notice any power loss and the ecu cuts the cluch under hard acceleration anyway.
  15. Leave the a/c pipes attached and swing it forward slightly. The power steering pump can stay in the engine bay and so can the altenator. No need to disconnect any of those.
  16. If they are four stud they must be for a z31.prolly chocolate though,
  17. If the cylinder was full of water it probaly wouldnt turn over.
  18. My old man would love to have his back again. Are they still available?
  19. Yeh the HKS is mounted at a steep angle for optimum air flow.Clever those Japs. Its hard to tell from front views but on side pics of the intercooler fitted its highly visible. My dads car ran a huge Border fmic with no issues of the car running hot till an old dear pulled out on him.
  20. Whats up with two units joined together anyway?,Was good enough for HKS and what do they know:rolleyes:
  21. The ones on the left are stock. They are fitted in the wastegate lines from new.The mig tips are extras.
  22. Where are we going to meet for the convoy up,somewhere in Emersons green perhaps or similar?
  23. THe high reading will be because you never released the pressure from the last cylinder test i should imagine.Put a teaspoon of oil in the low cylinders and see if it rises. If it does your pretty much assured its the rings/piston.Id say its highly unlikely with what you,d described its head gasket.
  24. Well let me see now...................ummm no.I always look after ya anyways matey.Of course that is until you ban me :D
  25. 18psi Jesus Bri,Deep pocket time would be just around the corner.come to think of it put em back in mate and i shall see youn soon :hyper:
