  2. Your doing it right Si,Start large and work down,much safer that way.Some peeps maybe running .8 tips but they may have boost leaks they are not aware of and need to run the small size to compensate for pressure losses.

  6. Jdm cars are usually better but northern Japan has a harsher climate so look out for cars from this region.
  7. Is yours eating back tyres Jeff on the inside edges,Parts manager got one brand new at work and he drives like a vicar but the rears run a lot of negative camber and it nailed the first set in 8000 miles!!
  8. Why will the cat have gone because the o2 sensor was unplugged?,as you say the default for not reading the sensor will be rich but it wont be enough to damage the catalyst.

  13. how about a nissan titan 5.6 v8 conversion and maybe throw in a turbo conversion for good measure.The engines got 375 pounds of torque to begin with!!
  14. In your case Joel id imagine the wastegates would open and youd have a huge leak into the exhaust.Your only running stock boost on those tubbies ya tight wad.get some 555s and let them spool more :D

  16. The 300 has a spigot bush that has no bearings so it cant make a whirring noise.

I would make no assumptions on whats gone and buy the car with a view in mind to having a replacement engine.Thats worse case scenario at least if it turns out to be something else its a bonus.Even if it only smokes on idle and has all the symptoms of failed tubs assume the engines fubar and budget for it.Nice looking car but still try and knock him down if you can.
  18. By the sounds of it is more probable one of your turbo water feeds has sprung a leak.Worth checking before wading in with the headgasket diagnosis.

From what ive been told by a leading authority on this subject Mines ecu,s are mapped for 104 octane fuel and very often have aggressive timing maps to suit.more power can be obtained with a higher degree of advance in the timing but after a point it can cause detonation and thats where the problems start.
  20. Get one from maplins then bridge it across the female plug.
  21. Hi Mate.in my experience its the connecting loom thats shot and not the sensor.Mjp should be able to get you one.
  22. Im sure the figure is around 37 on idle.So yours is working as it should.With the gauge connected pull the vac pipe and it should climb to 43.Under boost you should see 43 plus what ever your boost pressure is iirc.
  23. Check the connections on the cas and ptu mate.If the pins are green give them a clean.
  24. 2kgs a side Jimmy!! Reckon you will be surprised.Glass is heavy.Id say more like 5 ish bud.
  25. If you want to see if the injector is working.Put the ignition on to prime the fuel rail,remove the injector and spark plugs and power up the injector using some wire and a 9v battery whilst shining a torch into the combustion chamber.You should see and smell the fuel being injected into the cylinder.
