  1. Not part of the Mot bud.One of those mot myths im afraid.Only protrusions on the body caused by damage or corrosion are failable items,so in other words if you mounted pitch forks across the bonnet and along the side id have to pass it.
  2. You were right how you did it.Its best to leave the torque convertor in the box,but if youd known then yes the torque convertor would have just slid off the input shaft off the box.You neednt have spent three hours cutting the box up though when the bolt rounded off.The welded nut trick would have worked as you said or some sockets made by Irwin are great for removing damaged bolts.
  3. Well done mate,good feelin to accomplish a job like that.You can pull the engine without un doing the torque convertor bolts though.Just means you lose some tranny fluid thats all.It saves cutting the bellhousing up next time.

  13. The seals get hotter,expand then seal up whilst driving.When the tubs cool at idle they allow oil to pass
  14. ^^^^^^^^^^ The new exhaust has altered the back pressure and caused the tub seals to pass oil.can happen sometimes :mad2:

  19. Alanz bought those i recall,they were ds2000 ferodos intended for a van that had been ground on the edges to fit the caliper.
  20. ignore that plug.Thats an american loom and will have some plugs the uk/jdm cars dont use.As your fitting a boost controller,cut off the unwanted plugs and tape up the wires to keep the engine bay looking tidy.It is possible to do the inside part of fitting the loom with the dash in.fiddly but possible.

  23. Get a winding one,its much safer.Only paid £150 for mine off Snap on.Its made by blue point and winds 360 degrees so you can set it exactly where you need it.
