Im not so sure really and the interest is shocking anyway tbh.id like to hope so.so good people have picked up the ball over the years and thrown it back in despair after a short term.
  2. Getting to the magic 500 bhp will take quite a few mods.a rebuild wont give you that much power back mate.Big blowers aint all thats needed if the heads and manifolds wont flow.Id say your dyno was rather generous if im honest and in the real world youll need quite a few more mods to hit 500.

Tis a sad day,end of the region imho.game over.Knew it would happen eventually.oh well we had some good times over the years.Dave still has a collection of south west vids i believe.
  4. Are you serious ? do you understand what they do and how they work, they are coated metal layers which when clamped create a seal.its not a gamble i can assure you,i never suggested it for a joke. When you take them off you will see what i mean.On the US forums people have re used them 5 times with no issues.I know of two people personnally running used cometic gaskets with no issues whatsoever. But if you know best........

Thanks for all your input Matt you did a great job, thats the end of the region now, someone turn the light off on the way out will you.I cant forsee anybody stepping up to the plate.
  6. cometic gaskets will go again,id re use them if ok.They are metal so dont compress :thumbup1:
  7. Trying to pm you but you have exceeded your limit, and yes the crank journals should be polished using emery cloth to remove any imperfections.
  8. what about the crank ? no polishing or getting the valve faces and seats cut,its not quite so simple, anyone would be a fool to fit new rings and not have the valves looked at.And dont say lap them as id love to see anyone try to lap a 20 year old exhaust valve out of one of these things.
  9. Ive been watching this thread with great anticipation,im jimmers wife and regularly come on here and check for him of any new posts, and pm,s for him and this caught my eye ,ive had arthritis since i was 5 years old and was bound to a wheelchair for most of my youth and have battled with this disease for well over 25 years now,its not cancer or other well known illnesses but needs highlighting as its more widespread than often known and causes severe pain and suffering to people of all ages and is life changing i can assure you.I battle day to day with joint pain that is incomprehensible to most people and have to run a household under the curcumstances as help and support is very limited and under supported.Id like to think you guys on here will show your support as you have with other charitable requests to this very good cause.
  10. Talking of pocket rockets, anybody recall the charade turbo ? 998cc triple valve turbo, quick quirkey little cars and really fast in the day.bet you,d be hard pushed to find one now.
  11. Yes matey,'the 62mms are HUGE ! I may invest in a set for that price.
  12. Yeah get it done for peace of mind imho.
  13. Its such a shame Bri it went that way,its so predictable its untrue.Automotive chuckle brothers
  14. Yeah thats it,his advertising is poo though i must say.
  15. Are your turbo cartridges ball bearing or the traditional type? did the oil lines have restrictors ?
  16. I couldnt agree more mate, the show has decended into a plethora of staged drivel !! it was funny at first but the joke wore thin and the show is no longer car focused,so many good cars appear between each series but only a few get tested then the brunt of the show is devoted to stupid staged stunts and tomfoolery which can be funny when slipped in every now and then around the car features but it became a comedy show interspersed with car features ffs.
  17. Thats my brother in law, that zed is now for sale.So if you know anyone Mark in the Midlands after a tidy zed with a rebuilt engine,555s and gt500 tubs let me know.
  18. Its great Ryan you got the car for the price you did but wait a couple of years before declaring it a bargain. If its trouble free then you did as you say get a good deal but these cars can hide many faults as they are so complex for the year they were made.Im not trying to rain on your parade but dont want you to expect years of trouble free motoring. The last owners hardly used it and youll want to live in it as a new owner and this is lightly to cause some problems.
  19. Its a great car and looks amazing in the flesh.Very tricked out and imho a winner.
  20. That is just ridiculous, must handle like shit.I found this a while back, its a z32 vid with crazy camber, search the guys other stuff as he has quite a few 300zx videos in Japan
  21. Ive fitted a set to Funki Si,s car and he reckons its no mare harsher than before,id just fit collars personally.
  22. Fair shout Steve for doing it in situ but the box takes a couple of hours to remove and refit !! and it would have made life much easier.
  23. Soz but as much as i like them,Nismo would never choose an Auto to mod as a show piece, its just a car that somebody strapped some choice bits too.Id be amazed if it had engine mods, very few that leave Japan have, people that are not familiar with zeds drive one and lap up the salesmans patter and wild claims of amazing engine mods only to finds its stock later on !
  24. Funny you should ask that Pete but no im not,i detest them and most of the goons that drive them with their 555 mudflaps and chavvy gold stickers, its a proper mid life crisis car imho and the owners usually think its the fastest thing ever invented. Its a poor substitute for an Evo which was a feat of engineering and far more desirable.
  25. Its a clitoris !! oh jesus.Made by a company that used to sell cars at farm outlets. So rare in blue also
