JaiKai
Like my old zed i'm planning to remove all the old AC parts as I doubt i'll ever use them, so eventually out comes all the pipes, compressor and AC radiator & fan. JaiKai
Generally the engine looks clean enough, and there was an oil leak coming from the lower end of the sump seal so after its on the engine stand and stripped a bit i'll open her up and inspect and reseal it again with fresh sealant. JaiKai
Stripped out all the old AC parts today. Even though I've done all this on my previous build its still surprises me how much space this all takes up.
jimmer
And for the first time I managed to get a view of underneath and its very clean looking. Dont jack it on the sills !!
JaiKai
Should be ok, as the pads have slots in them so they don't bend or flatten the sills. Otherwise I would never have done it that way. JaiKai
Still at it today. :) Wings came off then I carefully dismantled and removed the main front loom in preparation for its respray. Also a lot more scrap to my pile as I removed the huge carbon canister and all the pipes for it.
JaiKai
Deja vu working on this loom as it wasn't that long ago I remember having the loom of the old zed laying in my living room while I rapped it in new loom tape. I plan to do the exact same with this loom too.

Funkysi
Not sure why you'd want to remove a fully functioning AC system. I'll gladly take the compressor off of you and the condenser to have as a spare!
t.mogsy
I know Gray is looking for parts to reinstate his ac.

I'll gladly take the compressor off of you and the condenser to have as a spare! Because he lives in the land of ice cubes and ironbru and doesn't need it? It's incredible how much space is created in the bay binning it.

JaiKai
Few hours on the zed today and managed to get a few more bits off. Door cards, window trims, surround rubbers and also the mirrors are now off.
JaiKai
Also started to wire brush under the battery area as it accumulated a lot of surface rust. Not an easy place to access with bulky tools so its going to take some manual graft to clean it all up.
toolboxtrev
what about a small wire brush on a dremel lee??
phutumsch
what about a small wire brush on a dremel lee?? I always have found them a bit tame for something like this, to scratch the rust off i'd use a grinding wheel on the dremel.
