300zx insurance....is anyone in the club actually insured with....

.... Adrian Flux?

Seems that there's constant bad-press and poor quotations. So just wondering if anyone here actually has insurance with them and if so, how much? I'm not insured with them, but I'm curious to know if anyone actually is?...I am talking about insurance on your Z, not on anything else.

I was insured with them for a couple of years. I got a good premium at first, then the renewal was about 30% higher. I shopped around for quotes and got them to bring theirs down each time. Then this year they said they wanted proof of my quote, either by me giving them my password for the comparison site I used (like I'm going to give out my password to a total stranger...) or by me sending them screenshots of every page of the quote form! At that point I told them not to bother and changed insurer to Admiral.

I've no idea whether Adrian Flux are good or bad at settling claims, but they don't seem to have grasped the concept of a competitive renewal premium.

I'm now on a normal policy with Admiral, with mods declared. I've also had a classic policy on a Zed before, problem with that is you instantly lose any ability to transfer NCB to a standard policy.

i've been with them 3 years jap tt 6000 miles per year fully comp, first year was £260 then it rose to £275 in the 2nd year, this year just over £300, i went onto compare the market did a comparison for a fairlady z (this is important as uk car is cheaper to insure) best quote i got was £269 called them and they dropped my price to £260 without asking to see comparison quote.

isn't there a club discount in place?

problem with Admiral that I found is they wont do a agreed valuation.

I'm currently with Admiral on Multicar but will be moving soon as the zed passes its MOT.

I have 3 of my cars insured with Adrian flux both verts and my nissan silvia s15 and quoted me happy I put ltd mileage on them aswell.

It really winds me up when insurance companies send out renewal quotes that are no where near their most competitive. It's often hiked up by a ridiculous amount, then after shopping around, they then match the quote, often dropping £100's!

I am not personally insured with them anymore and the quotes they give me are no longer competitive since moving over to classic policies.

I've been insured on my daily for a few years now and this year they put the price up higher than last year. I had cheaper quotes but they wanted proof but I was backpacking Indonesia at the time and couldn't be arsed sorting it out so just let it renew, will haggle them down next year if they're silly about it again

they are there to make money and get as much as they can from you. not there to help you they are there to help them selfs,

Hi Si

I'm not with them!

I got a better quote elsewhere!

KMG (classic) £186.70

I must be ancient:)

I racked up over 10 years NCB with Adrian Flux, 7 years on the zed

Was always the cheapest for me but zed not been insured for 5 years now :(

When my Zed was on the road (in 2011) I was with Adrian Flux, turned out to be the cheapest at the time, I think I was paying around £650.

I remember having a rant on the forum about a year ago, when I happened to do a comparison quote, and it was £700 plus, I had expected it to reduce, as it had been 3 years, and I moved closer to 40. :)

I currently insure my 3.2 V6 Merc CLK for under £500... If I ever get my Zed back on the road (planned for next year) I'm told classic car insurance is the way to go, so I'll be doing that.

I was for years and found them very good. I have only changed as I have mine on classic insurance due to having a daily driver.

Nope. I used to have insurance with them but it was half the price with sky and I'm now on a classic policy with footman James which is a token amount tbh. Less than £200 for the year.

i was with admiral for years with the zed and my then daily driver a volvo v70, the volvo always stayed around £300, the zed started at £249 first year, 2nd year it went to £500 so i changed the zed to flux and kept the volvo with admiral, until i bought the range rover and they wanted £600, i think this year was my best deal yet, zed with flux for £269, range rover is with the AA for £232 both fully comp and protected no claims

About a month after buying it, my Z became my daily drive, so I had cancel the classic policy I had it on and find someone else. Most companies weren't interested on finding out that my car is an import. Adrian Flux however quoted me £700 fully comp with one years NCB (been out the country for 10 years), which was cheaper than the MX-5 MK1 I had just got rid of! I haven't had a renewal from then yet...

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

I was with them a couple of times - i insured my dad's escort cabriolet for a month, cancelled and lost out on £180 quid and then insured the V8 but i'm with Footman James now - £260 a year with agreed value, all mods declared, 34 year old none smoker

Thinking back when I ask for a quote they would not insure me because of my mods? They said if it's over 400bhp they won't insure you, this was a few years back is it still the same? Do people disclose the fact they have mods to there insurance? As I pay more because of this.

You've be a fool not to Graham, I have 18 declared mods.

An agreed valuation of £10,000 is also becoming the norm for our cars :thumbup1:.

PerformanceDirect for me, £218 :).

Was with FluxDirect for one year but the renewal was way off at nearly £400, I didn't even give them the chance to chip it as I don't think they deserve that.

I insured my zed for the first time with flux a few weeks ago, I'm 25, 2nd car, 4000 miles per year, parked on drive, all mods declared obviously and I get to drive other cars (not registered in my name or at my address) fully comp for £550 a year after they matched my 6 years no claims from my daily. It's the cheapest quote I managed to get, less than I'm paying on my daily and they put my girlfriend on the policy for free. Seems expensive compared to what you lot are paying, but it's less than I thought I'd have to pay and I'm dead chuffed so far! Will see what happens in a years time when it's time to renew though...

My daily's on admiral but I thought they wouldn't cover the value of the mods in any claim so I didn't even bother getting a quote from them as that's a rough deal!

no ive just renewed with footman james, £174 classic policy, me and the missus 5k mileage limit

ps use Adrian fux on my family passat

Flux wouldn't touch me when I started mentioning the mods. Went with Classic Line again this year limited mileage 3k all mods declared circ £290.

Just been looking at my policy,it is with Graham Sykes ltd,my broker is CRS,who we use for our company's fleet,oh who up until two years ago had my 300 on its fleet policy, then decided because of the mods I made they didn't want to insure it again ( wouldn't even quote for it),anyhow so had to get a separate policy,so I paid £240.55 with limited mileage and all mods ,and I had to prove what I'd spent with receipts.
