Alright guys and gals. Finally got a z32. 1991. Twin turbo manual. Very happy. It does however look a bit tired on the paint but nothing I can't sort there. Done 90000. Mechanically it's great. No smoke. Boost needle where it should be. Sounds great. New timing belt. Very happy. However. What are the tell tail signs the clutch is going?

Pictures later date as I don't know how to put them on as I am on my phone aha

what is the correct gap on the colder plug running a bar or more of boost ??

The largest gap possible without having the spark blown out.

NGK copper plugs are usually around 0.8mm out the box, apart from those with part numbers ending in -11. They still require gapping properly though. Shouldn't have to gap precious-wire plugs, if you do, be very careful.

Thankyou , I want to replace mine for the summer season is BKR7E all I need to say the motor factors?

Copper: BKR7E or BCR8ES. Depends on power level, boost level and usage of the car.

In your experience Noel, what would you say was the crossover point in boost and/or power before moving from BKR7E to BCR8ES? I have some 8's here to fit but I'm not sure I'll be running enough boost/power to warrant fitting them and should maybe get the 7's.

I've just answered this exact question for someone else actually.

It does depend on turbo specification, but I find 420bhp and/or 18psi a suitable crossover point. The most important aspect is catering for cylinders 5 & 6.

So what plugs should I run ?, I only use the car on warm summer weekends. and subject to mapping I would like to be above 420 BHP and intend to run 1.5 bar now I can ,

Thanks

BCR8ES for 1.5 bar.

Good info there guys thankyou

Received car back today, new clutch. A 4 paddle clutch. I like the harshness of them. Make the car feel strong as anything. Can't wait to bed it in properly :)

Today I have changed it kmh to mph with one of those converters you wire in. Followed a guide on here and must admit very good guide. Sorted :)

Wired up my reverse lights so I have a fog light at the flick of a switch. Looks brighter in person :)

Ok then. Hitting problems here. The misfire is getting considerably worse due to more injectors going out of their ohm range. Only 2 in their range. Booked it in to have egr delete, coolant bypass and new injectors in. For next Thursday. Can not wait!!!

Fix the misfire :)

Probably your car's way of saying 'get that sticky mess off me'. Why are your pillars and t-bar trim black...and filler cap for that matter?

...and what's going on here?

Received the car back from outlaw today. Fitted new injectors, egr delete and coolant bypass. Can certainly tell the difference. Starts up no problem now... However. ... still got a misfire :(

Mike said it was due to the connectors I have used to put new injector connectors on... Instead of soldering I crimped them. He said they won't do anything for the resistance.

So I have soldered 5 of the 6 connectors now. Still missing. I doubt but I hope that once the 6th one is done it will stop but I think it's something else :(

Any ideas would be most appreciated :)

See what happens after the 6th is soldered :)

The loom on my LWB is not the best, it's always had crimped connectors for injectors and not had an issue, even with an excess of the dreaded green corrosion (I've said before that I keep my main Zed in average condition on purpose. Soon to be changing now that I have done all the work I will ever need to on a relatively stock setup).

It needs diagnosing properly if the misfire persists. Think I mentioned here back on 9th January that the AFR needs monitoring. The cause of the misfire needs to be determined. Hopefully it's the final injector connector :)
