General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi All. Ive been mulling over a few different ones lately, as i want to make the right choice. Im now looking at a white one; http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1195616.htm I wondered if anyone fancied giving there input. I have spoken to them on the phone, and they are willing to put it on a ramp so i can have a look over it properly. It looks a bit dull on the outside, but nothing some tcut wont cure... is the fag lighter live when car is switched off? ie can one of those solar trickle chargers be connected through the ciggy lighter or does it have to be connected to the battery?

Just found these pictures from one of my old Zs... it developed a creaking noise from the from suspension somewhere, I ignored it for a bit but it didn't go away lol. So finally got it on some ramps -see if you can spot the problem :shock:

Hi guy´s!! After 3 hours, I can´t remove stock blow off valve. I can´t access to the second screw!!... I try to remove electric fan....and nothing, I can´t take out it unless remove oil cooler...:confused::confused::confused: Any idea??what is the trick? Thanks Javier

hello everybody long time no troble till now my z had to sit for a week i changed plugs fuel fillter went for a drive she is auto got a bit of free road so let her at it she hit the rev limiter and wouldnt change gear try a few times any ideas :bow:

Ive just built my twinturbo still a tiny bit tappy up top using 10w40 should i use a thicker oil , also how much mileage should i put up before i can drive it on :d:d:d

Hey! I just laid up my Z for winter (shes a bit too sideways in the wet with my daughter in the baby seat beside me) so using the safe ol' dependable Skoda Octy! I followed a couple of Blue R33 Skylines the other day into a yard called Abbey Motorsport in my Z; just around the corner from me that I didn't know was there! Has anyone used them and are they any good? I want to replace the passenger front wheel bearing and I think the o/s manifold gasket is starting to free itself (can hear it when cold) I am looking for 2x 8.5j rear t/turbo wheels that they dont have laying around too. They had various HKS 350Zs and Skyline R32/33/34 laying around and a few Scoob…

Ive finally pieced everything together for my turbo fitment, ams copy manifolds, heat wrapped and silicon coated z1 split downpipes " " hks actuators a new engine wiring harness all gaskets etc restrictors oil lines bla bla bla and solid engine mounts,..... should eliminate any engine movement and put less stress on the drivechain etc..... yep its guna be very noisy in there haha.

Well just had my windscreen replaced after a big lorry threw up a rock onto it,got to say thank god for fullycomp,only cost £50 ex just wanted to no how much would it cost for a windscreen for our cars???

Since i swapped my speedo cluster and had the ecu upgraded, I had a couple of weeks enjoying her and then all of a sudden the last few days i've had a few problems with my Zed :( 1) The speedo works fine most of the time, but sometimes the needle indicating speed does not work or suddenly drops down to zero and then flicks back up when it was working. All the other needles seem to work fine. 2) Every now and then the steering feels heavy (i think this has only happened when the speedo is not working) then the HICAS light comes on and stays on. If i switch the engine off then start her up again - it often feels fine again, and the light does not re appear. …

Hi, Does anybody know a good Suspension/Wheel alignment place in the South. Im right on the coast near Portsmouth. Friend of mine has just got his first Zed and id say the car has been worked on/repaired before? Pulls badly left. He wants to get the car checked out and setup. I remember a place at slough mentioned in Jap Performance/Banzai once that looked the busines but he didnt want to go all that way unless he had to. Any advice would be great. Cheers

Saw you leaving the paddock yesterday afternoon, a friend of mine had told me there was a zed kicking about but I didnt see it until you left. Sounded well and looked clean!

Almost finished my engine and have was given a few meters of very good coolant hose but not silicon. Will this matter on the coolant side. Oh my car is almost stock no big mods.

Hi guys and girls, after only about 4 days of not running the car the battery dies, even the alarm light does not work its that dead, apparantly the battery is quite new, I charged it for 24 hours and it was fine, but after a few days it was dead again, the battery does hold its charge once ive taken it for a spin so I dont think its the alternator, could it just be that the battery is useless now as its run flat a few times?
