Hi all, The Z absolutly flies......sometimes, then it don't quite fly for a while. I make a few adjustments to the EBC, then end up back where I started, and it flies for a couple of days. I'm thinking get rid of the EBC and go manual valve. Do you reckon this is a good idea, or am I being a muppet. Cheers

I have been busy listing my parts in the for sale section. Please note that some of the parts are still on the car and i do have allot of interest in the parts. So i have taken a few Thursdays and Fridays to take parts off and prepare for postage so please bare with me. Some of the bigger parts are sold as On Nearest Offer. But please bare in mind i do have allot of interest so i will not accept silly offers. Most my parts are brand spanking new, or only 1000 road miles old. I have stated which are which. Because of that my prices are not silly low prices as they are not old and abused parts, everything should be in A1 mint condition or other wise…

Ok here we have it an invitation to all of the members here to the ZEDWORLD XMAS BASH Sunday December 20th 2009 starting and finish times to be finalised and in part up to you guys and your enthusiasm and the attendance numbers. This is to be a festive party meet for the membership that we are very happy to facilitate the event and can promise a good time food and drinks ( non alcohol for the drivers :duffer: ) A little background to the event location for those who don't know where we are there is parking for 50+ zeds immediately outside with another 30+ in an adjacent car park less than 60 seconds walk so no worries about room to show your zeds off. Comf…

2 reasons for doing this, 1) its not a 300zx, its a Fairlady Z. its not the import, not UK. 2) i like the anonymous approach, so not everyone knows what it is. removed panel: masked up: (took about 20 mins, easy to do) sprayed: fitted: ive seen panel all sprayed, but thaught id leav the reverse lights showing :)

How much is a new tyre on these? And is there any make in particular that are recommended? It currently has yokohamas all around but a couple look a bit borderline to me. Also, I have noticed on this car there is quite a but of steering shake over 60 mph, is this likely to be wheel balancing?

JDM to UK Speedo swap series 3............. just did this today as I finally had a spare hour. However when I fired it up to test I had like a yellow fog lamp like icon on the clocks (see pic) is this normal due to the difference in JDM not having the same rear fog(or even not having one from stock) as a uk ? any help appreciated everything works as it should including front and rear(aftermarket switch) fogs Also can anyone tell me where the switch for rear fogs is on a UK car? on this link the lamp icon is different it shows a seatbelt warning light in red http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=41352

hey im after someone confirming what i already suspect really. Changed my turbos not long ago and had major problems with the left oil feed but thats sorted now. Car wasnt smoking at all before the turbos and has just started smoking white after i changed the left turbo for the second time. Started off with a little bit so i thought it was just burning up what was in the exhaust but now its getting alot worse. Cant really tell which side yet as the exhausts link together. Whats the turbos like for leaking coolant? Hopefully not head gasket however how do i go about checking this is it a simple compression test. Marty

Ok this could be just one of those drunken chats we all have now and then but what would it take to supercharge a n/a zed? Has anyone done it before? And do you think it would be better than a turbo conversion? Get ya thinkin caps on!

Dripping oil and smoke from the exhaust alerted the owner of this zed to a problem. Smoking away as it was put on the ramp the “oil drip” was soon revealed as a gusher but from an odd place behind the front bumper. Well of course the oil cooler is locate there and initial thoughts were it maybe related to that, but once the panels were removed the amount of oil splatter and the area effective eliminated the cooler, further investigation revealed the oil was coming from the dump valves !! Now suspecting something worse than originally thought the offside inter cooler was removed and a gush of oil poured out !! see the pictures below and yes it turned out bad news f…

Thermostats. In previous tech threads the thermostat has been looked in some detail, in the main about ones stuck open and the subsequent low temp running issues which can lead onto lowered performance due to safety boost operating as the ecu considers the engine too cool to allow full boost and of course this uses excess fuel too, here we deal with NON GENUINE thermostats. So check out the two photos below, the stat on the right is an old but genuine Nissan unit, the unit on the left a non genuine new (ish) unit removed from a zed earlier this week with the cool running issues. The preferred normal running temp for the zed is 80C this is essential for safe…

With all the advances in the modern car sadly the underbody protection is still last on the list, the 350z a modern design car, this one an 04 reg 60k on the clock and corrossion already doing its stuff, note the two cat pipe shield, rotted through, one needed removing as it was rattling, see now he should have bought a 300zx:D
