Anyone fitted one of these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TYPE-VR-Push-Button-Engine-Start-Gear-Knob_W0QQitemZ180417625245QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2a01ba7c9d toying with idea at moment, not sure if it'll look cheap, or actually do the job. Id remove the steering lock and fit a hidden switch to make "live" rather than use key as I cant see the point of using a key and not just giving it that final turn to start :)

Hi, Continuing from my previous thread about my water feeds! Jimmer kindley pointed out that my oil line was to close to my down pipe Before. Since my other thread ive moved my oil line from the down pipe and wrapped it in sticky back heat shield. Should this be enough clearence now? Also would it be a good idea to heat wrap the down pipe? Ive heard mixed reviews in using the cloth heat wrap. Now. Cheers Dan

Hi all. I am a newbie to the 300 world. Im going to have a look at a potential car next week and wondered what to look for...i.e. are there any common things to check. I know my way around a car and will be taking one of my nissan techs from work with me....but hes never worked on a 300! The one im going to check out is a fresh import, 1996 300zx Twin Turbo 2+2. If anyone has any info i greatly appreciate it. Dont wanna spend all my money on a pooper! haha. Thanks in advance, Matt

A few weeks ago after enjoying the car for two days I parked it on the drive next door to say getting the ramps out to put it in the garage. The intention was to get some video of a tunnel run and some rapid driving so everyone could hear the single turbo. The sunday morning came after a night of rain and I went out and the car started and ran for about 30 seconds but struggled, belched out smoke and died and wouldn't restart at all!! Anyway after much searching the problem was the MAF, it had filled with water somehow and I mean the box section with all the electrics in. It's spent the last week drying out in the house, I put it back on today and the car started af…

Guys I need to find 2 power supplies under the bonnet. (nearer the main fuse box the better) 1 of them needs to be a permanent live the other live when the ignition is swicthed on. (not straight from the battery as i don't won't any untidy cables down the side of the plenum, or going through the bulk head to the other fuse board/ignition switch) When I get his done I will finally have my led DRL's sorted! Oh yeah will post pics as well when completed :) thanks H

Haven't seen any for a long time then four in the space of a couple of weeks. 1. Silver on the M9 near junction 5 heading west at about 4.40pm on a week day about 3 weeks ago. 2. Silver again Saturday 24th Oct heading west out of Prestonpans. 3. M8 heading west again near Livingston on Saturday 31st Oct between 5-6pm, again it was silver but not the same one as on the M9 as that had decals on the door. 4. Red one in Falkirk parked in the car park next to Arnold Clark on Friday the 6th of Nov.

hi, i am a honda driver at the moment, but this christmas some money should pop in so started thinking about 300zx....always had soft spot for these...and skylines... anyway, got some questions for you: - will i find a decent example of SWB (has to be) tt under 3k ?? - will it be a car that will have to be invested in ?? or is it possible to buy a car that will just be working (bearing in mind it would be from 92-93...) - how high roughly is the insurance...28years...2.5 years ncb...good postcode.. (very roughly, cuz if i am to pay 2k for the 3k car i will give it a pass....) generally, i ask you for honest opinions, will not spend more than 3000 pounds,…

Hi, Ive been looking at stand alone ECU's piggy backs ECU's for a while now and still havent a clue which is best to have! I hear good and bad stories about every Ecu on the market. I was just wondering whos got what and the pros and cons? Ive been mainly looking at the HKS v pro gold or AEM but the price for the AEM is alot more than the HKS, Is it worth the extra cash? Cheers Dan

Switched on my lights this morning (it was foggy and I needed an excuse) and the RHS light did not switch on! Tried a couple of times, waited a minute or so and then worked on the 3rd attempt. The LHS light was fine each time. Could there be a problem with the ballast? It is this same light which flickers from cold. Hoping they will both work tonight!

Finally got round to fitting mine yesterday. Thanks to Dan of DTA for his professional and friendly service and advice, as well as a very quick turnaround. Enjoy your holiday! Below are detailed instructions with photos and I hope that they are useful. In summary, very happy with the performance of the new lights although I think I have some adjustments to make! There is a slight flicker for the first 10 secs but then the lights settle down. I will discuss this with Dan when he returns. I also fitted some matching LEDs for the side lights which are covered under a separate thread I posted yesterday. I found the most difficult part of the installat…

Hi i just want to double check that the water feeds and returns are fitted correctly? Thanks to Gonzo12c for finding me some spare water pipes  Have i connected the right lines up in this pic or does it not matter which way they go? Will having the oil line close to the down pipe cause any problems? Also will i need special high temp bolts for the down pipe? Cheers Dan

After nearly a week of changing coil packs, airflow meters, ptu`s, ecu`s around on my TT, I realised the only thing i havent done is to change the spark plugs which are only 12 months old and are ngk-r platinums, i have cleaned them twice and set the gaps correctly. So today i swapped the offending number 2 spark plug and hey presto thats all it was!! what a :xxx: i am? So big lesson, check the sparkys first!!! DaZ
