Hi guys, I have been removing the interior panels for re-trimming and am having serious trouble getting the centre unit which holds the arm rest and hand break gater out. I've done the screws on each side of the gear stick, and through reading some posts on here found the two screws hidden under the felt in the arm rest box, I have also removed the 'T' shaped piece of trim which sits between the seats ( SWB car ), but I still cant get it to lift out. Now, under the arm rest there is what appears to be a factory fit controller for a CD multi-changer, is this likely to be the problem and if so any ideas on how to get it out. Cheers in advance Martin.

What are good batteries? Mine went flat as car hasn't been out for a few months due to snow etc. Tried charging it but the red light stays on instead of turning green(had it on charge for about 12 hrs). Don't want to risk a half duff battery shagging the alternator up. So what battery is good value for these motors and how much do they cost?

  11. Hi Guys, Been having probs with the steering feeling notchy so decided to try a replacement UJ. The old one was sloppy but I have another problem, please see the attached pics. The UJ only just hangs on the the bottom of the steering column when connected to the rack, the pinch bolt isn't really located over the flat area in the splines of the column, it's on the very end of the column. Surely this can't be right?? Perhaps something else has gone awry? I've attached some pics in case I'm not explaining myself very well... Any advice/input appreciated. Cheers RobH

Looking to purchase oil hose to go from the oil cooler to the engine. Does this have to be High pressure oil pipe? I'm just having trouble finding this. All I can find is the low pressure stuff. I'm probably just being stupid and looking in the wrong place. Thanks, Ant

about 2 days ago my car ('91 NA Jap Spec) stalled when i was changing gear (from 3rd down to 2nd, but before i lifted my foot off the clutch the engine was dead). Sometimes the idle can be perfectly stable at around 800 revs but other times it really fluctuates and drops to 400 revs (when it drops below it stalls), there doesnt seem to be a pattern as to when it happens, eg hot vs cold engine etc. Also i have to accelerate really really gently as if i try to accelerate a decent amount (when joining onto a fast road) the car really loses performance and feels like driving a 1l corsa, you can really feel the resistance (almost as if the engine isnt getting enough fuel). …

I've finaly got around to swapping my stock exhaust for the Fujitsubo Giken one I had lying around. I knew the stock one was on its way out, but only now have I realised the extent of it. One side had rusted all the way through so that the backbox wasnt even joined to anything.. :| Anyway I'm fitting downpipes in the process, and am having a bit of trouble getting to the two bolts on the top of the stock turbo elbows.. any advice on how to get at these would be appreciated. I could imagine that on an auto it is easier as you could reach down from the top of the engine bay, but on the manual the clutch cylinder is in the way... Secondly the new exhaust system …

Some days I hate my job, when a zed owner puts their trust in you to advise on a problem been the messenger of bad news can suck! So as the photo's show the guy had an apparent small interaction with a lorry tyre or section of (we think) on the motorway. The first impact marks look innocent enough as the front bumper edge looks only grazed, however as the wheel hopped over the debris it whipped it up violently into the sill and door leaving huge dent area and lots of rubber marking. Closer inspection shows the wing had been displaced too, but and importantly it had not been hit directly, despite a dent in the wing this is more of a stress mark than an impact …
