Hi Guys, I've just taken my steering column off for measurement, the column should be approx 746mm according to the manual and the lower shaft approx 315mm (RHD). I just want to confirm I'm measuring it correctly before I go and order any replacement parts. I'm measuring from either end of the shaft to the centre of the connecting UJ pinion. Measuring this way I've found the lower shaft is correct for a LHD model (approx 280mm) and the column itself is about right at 745mm. Perhaps the manual has LHD/RHD confused? Is anyone able to confirm the correct lower shaft length for a Jap spec RHD model please? Thanks in advance. RobH

Can anyone tell me where these wires connect to please? The one with the rubber gromet was on the passenger side under the engine but can't see where it goes to? The other two I think were on the drivers arch in the engine bay, are these to do with the HICAS as one looks like it connects to this? Thanks, Ant

Well, I am looking at getting my car ready for early march. I tend to take it off the road for the worst of the winter months. I want to replace all break hoses underneath, I live in Crawley, is there any member in my area who has the facilities to do this and let me help and learn a bit too. I know I can take it to a garage, but I'd love to be able to get down and dirty with my car too? Thanks

Just letting you peeps know my first manual voyage was superb!!! Fu***n HELL its quick!! what a difference the manual box makes, spun the rears in 3rd and I was taking it easy! Too excited to put the bonnet back on, so took her out for a gentle 15 mins, very worried waiting for something to fall off, then felt a bit more confident and give it some throttle and shes off like a rocket!! The prop is vibrating like a T**t at 50mph, but I noticed the centre rubber was goosed when putting it back, so i need a new rubber or prop or 1 piece prop!! So i`m really chuffed with myself as i have never attempted anything like this before, and with help from you guys it made it so much…

Hi guys, I have been removing the interior panels for re-trimming and am having serious trouble getting the centre unit which holds the arm rest and hand break gater out. I've done the screws on each side of the gear stick, and through reading some posts on here found the two screws hidden under the felt in the arm rest box, I have also removed the 'T' shaped piece of trim which sits between the seats ( SWB car ), but I still cant get it to lift out. Now, under the arm rest there is what appears to be a factory fit controller for a CD multi-changer, is this likely to be the problem and if so any ideas on how to get it out. Cheers in advance Martin.

What are good batteries? Mine went flat as car hasn't been out for a few months due to snow etc. Tried charging it but the red light stays on instead of turning green(had it on charge for about 12 hrs). Don't want to risk a half duff battery shagging the alternator up. So what battery is good value for these motors and how much do they cost?

Hi Guys, Been having probs with the steering feeling notchy so decided to try a replacement UJ. The old one was sloppy but I have another problem, please see the attached pics. The UJ only just hangs on the the bottom of the steering column when connected to the rack, the pinch bolt isn't really located over the flat area in the splines of the column, it's on the very end of the column. Surely this can't be right?? Perhaps something else has gone awry? I've attached some pics in case I'm not explaining myself very well... Any advice/input appreciated. Cheers RobH

Looking to purchase oil hose to go from the oil cooler to the engine. Does this have to be High pressure oil pipe? I'm just having trouble finding this. All I can find is the low pressure stuff. I'm probably just being stupid and looking in the wrong place. Thanks, Ant
